Pharos is seeking a Sales Engineer, to join our growing team. Reporting to the Director of Sales Enablement and Pursuit, this role has a significant influence on how Pharos technology is embraced by prospective customers, including the largest and most complex customers. A Sales Engineer will work closely with Sales Executives, Marketing, Product Development Managers and customers - both prospective and existing, to convey the value that Pharos technologies has for the customer, provide input on product direction and improvements. Remote work is available, or in our Rochester, NY office.

What you get to do:

The Sales Engineer plays a critical role in the sales cycle by positioning Pharos solutions and the value they have to the customer, using their specialized knowledge of Pharos technology and a sales aptitude.

  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations during which you would explain the technical aspects of the product and how it will solve a specific customer problem - product fit
  • Use your technical skills to explain the benefits of our products or services to potential customers and to show how Pharos products or services are better than our competitors'
  • Demonstrate the products in such a way for the customer to view Pharos products meeting or exceeding their needs and solving their problems
  • Continually improve the demo and presentation experience
  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and provide sales support, including qualifying the customer from a technical perspective
  • Work with the Sales team to secure orders and work with Professional Services to ensure the best customer experience when the solution is delivered
  • Work with Product Management and Marketing to provide customer feedback and market research
  • Update Salesforce and TaskRay with customer related activities

What you bring:

  • The ability to combine technical knowledge of Pharos products and services with strong interpersonal skills
  • 5+ years of project, business, and technical experience with customer presentations, demos and implementations
  • Passion for solving customer problems and demonstrating value using our solutions and services
  • Ability to work independently as well as with coworkers, customers, and partners
  • Upbeat, can-do attitude to take on whatever challenge is thrown your way
  • Expertise with core IT principles of networking, security, print services, and software integration and troubleshooting
  • Proficient supporting various operating systems
    • Desktop: Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, Linux
    • Mobile: Android, iOS
    • Server: Windows Server
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% (some international travel may be required)
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 (including SharePoint, OneDrive…)

Nice to have:

  • AWS certified Cloud Practitioner
  • Experience administering enterprise-class print devices across many manufacturers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server or similar database technologies
  • Experience using VMware, Salesforce, Slack, Jira, Tableau, and Power BI
