Cloud Data Architect (GC/USC)

The CDA (Cloud Data Architect) reports to the Head of Cloud Services and will be aligned to empower our Data & Analytic team and initiatives.

The Data Architect has primary responsibility to architect, implement, and support our growing portfolio of data focused initiatives lead by our Head of Data Strategy.

The CDA reports into the Enterprise Architecture and Cloud team, with members spanning the US and Europe.

Description:

  • Cloud Data Architect will
  • Architect data oriented solutions to support our growing data and analytics initiatives.
  • Analyze, peer review, and implement innovative solution architectures,
  • Perform continuous optimizations and cost management, and
  • Provide support o f implemented architectures.

Qualifications

  • Relationship management from a tech perspective: Understands Data Scientists terminology and development needs.
  • Architecting: tradeoffs and solutions within Data focused problem spaces
  • Self Directing: Autonomous engagement and progress
  • Ownership: Understands end to end solutions, including Operational aspects post launch. DevOps mentality and willing to Support solutions
  • Process: Agile Development Processes, and Continuous Improvement

Required Technical Qualifications :

  • AWS Certified Specialty - Data Analytics
  • AWS Certified Solution Architect - Associates Level
  • AWS Cloud Hands-on Experience Solution Architectures and Implementations
  • 3+ years Data Services to include:
  • Sagemaker, notebook provisioning, notebook integration with other AWS Services
  • Glue Python, Glue Spark, Glue Workflow, Glue Jobs, Glue Catalog, Glue Dev Endpoints
  • Athena
  • RDS lifecycle management
  • 5+ years AWS Core infrastructure Solution Architectures and Implementations
  • EC2, VPC, S3, CloudWatch

Preferred Technical Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Solution Architect - Professional Level
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
  • AWS Cloud Hands-on Experience Solution Architectures and Implementations
  • Redshift lifecycle management, performance tuning, monitoring, and developer query performance improvement
  • Redshift Spectrum
  • S3 use as a Data Lake, including data organization, lifecycle rules
  • RDS for Postgres
  • Containers - ECS Fargate
  • AWS Workspaces

DevOps Ratio

  • 66% Operations competency
  • 34% Developer competency

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Cloud Data Architect: 10 years (Preferred)
  • AWS: 5 years (Preferred)
  • DevOps: 6 years (Preferred)
