Head of PMO, Security Intelligence

The Head of PMO (HoP) leads the Security Intelligence PMO function which is responsible for providing strategic guidance and in development of a world-class security intelligence function in support of Chainlink Lab’s vision and business objectives. The HoP’s primary responsibility is to build the necessary strategy of combining people, process, and technology to defend the firm against threats to infrastructure, brand, and personnel emanating from cyberspace and beyond. The HoP fulfills this responsibility by directing the alignment of policies, plans, resources, training, and program development related to the elements necessary to combat emerging threats, investigations into threat actors, corporate risk analysis, insider threat programs and corporate training, and intelligence assessments to inform executive-level decision making.

Supervisory Role
: The HoP is responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising the Security Intelligence PMO team. Once the team is staffed, the HoP will direct the team in its day-to-day responsibilities as well as oversee the research, development, and implementation of appropriate data systems that, in turn, will ensure secure practices are followed in order to achieve Chainlink Lab’s overall business goals.

Leadership: As the company’s subject matter expert, the HoP provides thought leadership in designing strategic approaches and methodologies which address key security issues. Those key issues include cyber threats, insider threats, protective intelligence (i.e. executive protection), strategic developments, and physical security. Just as important, the HoP is also responsible for inculcating a departmental culture characterized by a selfless and collaborative mission-first/team-first ethos.

Collaboration: The HoP is expected to embrace the collaborative nature of this role. He or she works closely with a range of individuals, from internal departmental heads to senior executives. As part of this collaboration, the HoP works closely with the Senior Director of Operations and Head of Analysis in order to ensure the proper alignment of strategies and efficient use of resources within the Security Intelligence department. The HoP also partners with the HR department to establish the criteria for recruiting Security Intelligence experts in order to guarantee constant and efficient execution of all duties within these departments. Additional partnerships include, but are not limited to: InfoSec, Physical Security, Legal, and C-Suite.

Your Impact

    • The HoP’s role supports the creation, maintenance, and improvement of the existing tools across the entire Security Intelligence department. Key operational responsibilities include:

    • Collaborate with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop security-focused projects and functions
    • Plan project management, including setting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables across security organizations
    • Analyze financial data, including project budgets, risks, and resource allocation
    • Provide financial reports and budget outlines to security executives
    • Oversee the development of the project and ensure that team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding the company's standards
    • Draft new (and improve any existing) project management office policies and processes
    • Continuously evaluate projects to ensure they are meeting company standards, adhering to budgets, and meeting deadlines.
    • Accurately document the project's creation, development, and execution as well as documenting the project's scope, budget, and justification
    • Operate as Chief of Staff to the VP of Security Intelligence
    • Lead a PMO team which aligns corporate security functions to maximize efficiency and drive value to the business
    • Lead an ongoing process of holistic risk assessment and management of Chalink Labs security posture, including third party risk and provide bi-annual updates to the business on areas of concern and improvement
    • Deliver oral briefings and presentations to stakeholders
    • Collaborate with the Cyber-security Operations and Information Security teams and their TPMs
    • Collaborate with insider threat investigations teams, HR, and legal to drive a corporate strategy of security educate and awareness around insider threat prevention
    • Manage vendor relationships for the Security Intelligence function


    • A candidate should have a bachelor’s degree Organizational Communication, Psychology, or similar. (An equivalent of the same in working experience is acceptable for the position.)
    • A candidate must have at least 10 years’ experience in program/project management with an emphasis in building corporate intelligence analysis and/or threat investigation functions in the private sector
    • A candidate must have a minimum of two years experience leading a team of project managers (PM).
    • A candidate must have demonstrated prior success bringing together diverse functions and building multifunctional PM teams.
    • Working knowledge of the intelligence cycle, including analytic/investigative methodologies and processes
    • An understanding of the vulnerability landscape and how it impacts the overall cyber-threat landscape
    • A conceptual understanding of the role blockchain technology plays in the world of cryptocurrency
    • A candidate must excel at both written and verbal communications. As head of the PMO function, the HoP must be able to provide context and issue instructions to team members in a clear and concise manner. Similarly, the HoP is expected to explain complex situations and detailed processes laterally to other directors as well as to executives.
    • A candidate must have a high level of proficiency with GSuite, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, as well as one or more data visualization tools and PMO-related tools such as Asana, Wrike, etc. A candidate will also be proficient in the use of emerging open source tools.
    • A candidate must be a passionate and skilled practitioner in the field of risk management and third party risk as well as security education and culture development.
    • A candidate must be detail oriented, self-motivated and proactive, and require minimal supervision.
    • A candidate must be a creative and independent thinker, with superior problem-solving skills.
    • A candidate must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight-deadlines.
    • A candidate must be flexible, with a demonstrated track record of calmness and composure during times of uncertainty and stress.
    • A candidate must be a strong leader with a history of providing vision and inspiration to teams both large and small.


    • Intimate knowledge of the intelligence cycle, including analytic methodologies and processes
    • Command of recent trends among cyber-threat actors, campaigns, incidents and threat actor groups (from criminal to nation-state)
    • An understanding of the vulnerability landscape and how it impacts the overall cyber-threat landscape
    • An awareness of domestic and global geopolitical trends, in particular how these trends influence the cyber-threat landscape
    • A working knowledge of any of the following security frameworks: NIST, PCI DSS, ISO 27001
    • An understanding of cryptocurrency compliance requirements and how these relate to cyber-security business practices
    • A conceptual understanding of the role blockchain technology plays in the world of cryptocurrency

    • Social Media Intelligence (SMI/SOCMINT) gathering and/or analysis
