The Sr. Software Engineer will provide technical leadership and vision to an Agile development team to maintain and refine the architecture roadmap, to refine the product backlog, and to create, enhance, and maintain an application portfolio. This Engineer should be able to successfully collaborate with all levels of business stakeholders as well as external vendor development and support personnel.

You are responsible for

  • Developing robust, fault tolerant software solutions that deliver business value while adhering to Quality System Procedures governing software version control, configuration management and the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), with a focus on ease of maintenance and extensibility.

  • Operates in full compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations and laws, including but not limited to FDA requirements. Responsible to report any procedure or process that doesn’t meet regulatory requirements, whether suspected or confirmed, to management. This reporting can be done directly to any member of management, including Human Resources.

  • Following organizational practices in version control, software development and configuration management, including key performance indicators for the management of software development.

  • Integrating applications with other corporate systems and with third party software.

  • Performing data migrations.

  • Fostering a collaborative team environment.

  • Investigating and resolving issues escalated by application support team in a timely manner to the satisfaction of the business stakeholders.

  • Assisting in the authoring and reviewing of technical documentation regarding the design, configuration, creation, installation, and maintenance of application components.

  • Mentoring team members on technology and fostering a collaborative team environment.

  • Maintaining and refining a broad knowledge of relevant and appropriate new technologies, as well as championing technical innovation and influencing decisions within all levels of the enterprise.

You are part of Ambulatory Monitoring & Diagnostics Business (AM&D)

Ambulatory Monitoring & Diagnostics (AM&D) is part of the Philips Connected Care business cluster. Philips BioTelemetry is part of the AM&D business and provides remote cardiac monitoring services for more than one million patients per year. Philips acquired BioTelemetry in early 2021. The combination of Philips and BioTelemetry results in a global leader in patient care management solutions for the hospital and the home, a leading U.S.-based provider of remote cardiac diagnostics and monitoring.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following

  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship fora work-authorized visa.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a technical or business discipline preferred, Master’s Degree, or equivalent experience.

  • Must have experience with C#, .NET, .NET Core, Dockers, & SQL Server

  • Must have experience with Microservices within AWS environment

  • 6+ years of job-related, hands-on experience, developing and documenting the design of applications with a major object-oriented programming language (C#).

  • Experience with automated testing tools.

  • Experience with Test Driven Design, a plus.

  • Experience working with vendors and third-party consultants, a plus.

  • Experience with development, deployment, and support of software applications in a regulated business environment, a definite plus.

  • Experience with Continuous Integration and DevOps tools, a plus.

  • Solid understanding of the following: Object-oriented design; Relational databases; Data modeling principles; Integrating applications using web services like REST or SOAP.

  • Ability to effectively investigate technical issues with vendors and non-technical customers in order to solve reported issues.

  • Ability to author and present system documentation deliverables such as design documentation for software applications in clear, straightforward language.
