What We're Looking For
Fish Hippie is looking for a talented Marketing Communications Specialist to take the lead with our marketing communication strategies. This role would be responsible day-to-day, hands-on execution of email marketing programs, social media copy, website product description, promotional messaging as well as overall company copywriting. The Communication Specialist should be a creative person who combines strong digital communication experience with proven ability to develop content for a variety of media outlets.

The Marketing Communication Specialist will also lead the overall strategic direction as well as everyday deployment tactics to deliver best-in-class email marketing experiences. This includes ownership of the setup, maintenance, and reporting for recurring and triggered email communications. Additionally, this individual maintains a current understanding of email marketing best practices and applies them to the execution of our email campaigns in collaboration with the Marketing team in order to optimize business revenue & engagement.

This position can be remote or located at our headquarters in Mt. Airy, NC.
Marketing Communications Specialist Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic, integrated communication plans and programs that align with the organizations goals: drive online traffic and sales, drive brand affinity and retail growth thru email touch points
  • Create and maintain all schedules and calendars for the email campaigns.
  • Perform day-to-day email marketing activities including, but not limited to, email campaign set-up, scheduling, testing, tagging and deployment of one-time, recurring, triggered, and dynamic content-driven campaigns and flows
  • Review our former email campaigns to ascertain areas of strength and weakness, which could inform subsequent outputs.
  • Create copy for paid and organic social media posts
  • Collaborating with Graphic Designers to improve the appearance layout of outputs.
  • Work with production team to create product descriptions for all new products

  • Produce, maintain and update content on website, social media platforms, blog, and newsletter
  • Work with and follow budget given for campaigns.
  • Develops and documents efficiencies in current and future processes

Marketing Communication Specialist Requirements

  • Degree in Marketing English, Journalism, Advertising, Communications, or similar.
  • Proven experience creating high-impact, unique marketing campaigns.
  • Prior database management experience, preferably in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with email software such as Klaviyo
  • Excellent project management skills specific to marketing.
  • Outstanding copywriting and copyediting abilities.
  • Ability to harness collaboration to produce well-crafted content.
  • Drive, ingenuity, and gumption.
  • Willingness to work extended hours to ensure that projects are completed, as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
