Production Artist

The Production Artist helps bring the creative teams concepts to life with their strong creative and technical skills, strict attention to detail, and outstanding organizational, project management skills.

The Production Artist reviews final copy, layouts and content in print or digital form. They are brand ambassadors confirming client brand standards across color, font, production quality, imagery, and more. They collaborate with creative team members to develop and execute multi-channel campaigns in a highly competitive marketplace for RNL clients in Enrollment and Fundraising Marketing.

Ultimately, the Production Artist ensures RNLs print and digital designs meet client and vendor requirements, plus a high quality of industry standards.

This is a US based remote opportunity.


  • Take on designs during final stages of development to ensure accuracy and prepare them for print or digital channels for a variety of materials on behalf of our Enrollment Marketing and Fundraising partners: Paid Social, Display, Websites, Streaming and Terrestrial TV, Direct Mail, On-Campus Collateral, and more
  • Collaborate closely with directors, designers, and developers
  • Review specs on purchase orders and compare to designs
  • Review graphics, colors, layouts, images and fonts to confirm they line up with the client brand and the deliverables formatted industry standards before products are complete through RNL checklist systems
  • Help develop and improve RNL checklists for production and printer proofs
  • Support team through client revisions stage
  • Help with quality control of images, designs and overall deliverables
  • Suggest and apply image improvements for both print and digital through color correction, adding gradients or layers to help with clarity of content or image, and cropping of images. Plus, check on effective PPI/print or digital resolution and implement up-sampling if possible or bring to teams attention a better-quality image is needed
  • Manage prepress process for print files
  • Help team with digital development needs and communications
  • Consults with internal Client Success teams, Resource Managers, Creative Leadership and team to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines
  • Develop positive working relationships with outside vendors for print and development
  • Track and troubleshoot printer and vendor challenges or issues
  • Build out templates, printer dies and train teams on vendor process update


  • Associates degree in Graphic Design, a related field, or a portfolio that demonstrates equivalent training or experience for print/digital production of files and design
  • 3 years print/digital production and design experience or equivalent
  • Solid knowledge of printing processes and should be adept with software applications Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with digital content such as websites, social media, and email campaigns, along with knowledge of HTML and web-development software
  • Online portfolio to demonstrate creative and technical skills
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team-oriented environment
  • Ability to take direction and receive constructive criticism aimed at achieving results that will best benefit the client and company
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects in a fast pace environment and effectively manage time
  • Highly process orientated
  • Comfortable interfacing with multiple internal departments
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills for a variety of audiences
  • Experience and interest in learning new software programs
    • Ability to stay up to date with new production techniques and trends through research and education
  • Ability to maintain and work in a remote home office
  • This job operates in an office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets
  • This is largely a sedentary role; Infrequent light physical effort is required (minimum of five pounds)
  • Must be able to work in an environment where the noise level is moderate


  • Experience with video editing
  • Knowledge of HTML/XHTML and CSS
  • Knowledge of Adobe After Effects
