Associate Project Manager

(Entry level) Associate Project Manager:

  • will help coordinate the activities vital to the success of a Project Workstream.
  • must be able to take direction, be comfortable asking questions and be quick learners.
  • may be asked to manage one or more small streams of project work or even small projects which would include additional responsibilities.
  • will work closely with senior Project Manager and have an opportunity to gain a tremendous amount of valuable experience in a compressed timeframe.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Project Manager to help drive all the activities required to make a Program successful including:
    • Meeting Coordination, Planning, and Communication
      • Planning and scheduling meetings, ensuring meeting logistics are in place, taking contextual meetings minutes
    • Tracking of Key Activities and Action Items
    • Maintenance of Program Level and Project Level Schedules
      • Schedules may be developed and managed in various project scheduling tools including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Work, Microsoft Project, or any number of other web-based project management tools
    • Administration of Collaboration Sites for Workstreams
      • This could include Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Atlassian Jira, Atlassian Confluence, Slack or other similar tools.
    • Management of Issue and Risk Logs
    • Support for Other Key Workstream Management Functions
      • Assist the Project Manager to manage other needs such as: Program Governance, Financial/Budget Management, Change/Scope Management, Development/Maintenance of Program and Project Templates, Business Analysis Activities including Requirements Development, Operational Readiness Planning etc.

Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree required
  • 1-3 years of experience working in a corporate environment preferred
  • Consulting experience with large national firms will be strongly considered
  • Healthcare experience is a plus but is not required
  • Strong demonstrable written communication skills and even stronger verbal communication skills
  • An engineering mindset/strong critical thinking/problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed through adversity (personally or professionally)
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment with varying personalities
  • Comfortable with failure and ability to learn from mistakes
  • Comfortable providing direct feedback when prompted (or unprompted as needed)
  • Willingness to learn new functional skills (e.g. Project Management techniques etc.)
  • Technical skills including any computer programming, website development/administration, infrastructure management (network administration, server administration, cloud administration), database administration, database programming (e.g. SQL), business intelligence and report development, etc. is a plus
