Overview

The Graphic Designer 2 is responsible for designing art and copy layouts for material, such as brochures, posters, displays, web, digital, and signs, which are published and used as visual marketing media.

What you will be doing

  • Work directly with the client and to understand needs and strategy; apply best practice knowledge to create a vision of the finished deliverable
  • Develop project plan that ensure delivery stays on pace and meets deadline; proactively manage deliverables from others to ensure success
  • Create designs and concepts; determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, select style and size of type, and arrange layout based upon available space, knowledge of layout principles, and esthetic design concepts
  • Utilize talents and skills to create designs that align with the Company brand, showing creativity and meticulous attention to detail; promote creative branding concept
  • Generate sample of finished layout and presents samples to client for review and approval
  • Interact with vendors to ensure accurate quotes for work; convey quotes promptly to project requestor to expedite the delivery process
  • Ensure that the finished deliverable meets the client needs, budget and deadline
  • Regularly provides process improvement change suggestions
  • Create and maintain strong lines of communication with department's management team
  • Grow design knowledge and be aware of creative and technology trends
  • Comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices, including but not limited to, Hyland’s Information Systems Security Policy

What will make you successful

  • Bachelor's Degree in graphic designer related/equivalent visual communications field
  • Experience as a Graphic Designer
  • Advanced proficiency in a current version of Adobe Creative Suite software; familiar with other design, web and multimedia software and applications
  • Understanding and use of typography
  • Proficient at Mac OS or Microsoft Windows
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook or equivalent email and calendar software
  • An understanding of paper, the printing process and finishing techniques
  • Experience with creating large format graphics
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage projects to completion with oversight
  • Speak or write with ease, clarity and impact, using a communication style appropriate to the subject and the audience
  • Able to work and think in a methodical and logical way as demonstrated by planning assignments and monitoring performance according to priorities and arranging work schedule to meet critical deadlines
  • Good collaboration skills, applied successfully within team as well as with other areas
  • Able to persevere despite opposition or artistic criticism
  • Driven to learn and stay current professionally
  • Able to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time
  • Attentive to detail, as demonstrated by regularly verifying all work thoroughly to ensure accuracy
  • Or an equivalent combination of education andexperience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the job
