SCOPE OF ROLE

Bright Health’s Product team will support the definition and creation of consumer-facing products for Bright Health Group brands such as Bright HeathCare and NeueHealth. This position will work with stakeholders across the company to distill common needs, define executable requirements, and build useful features for a next generation data platform which will serve as the central nerve of all Bright Health Group operations and product development. Collaborators will include fellow product owners, UX designers, business analysts, market managers, contracting leads, operations, clinical, engineers and database architects as needed to support the full life cycle of product development. Technical platforms and infrastructure are critical to realizing our mission, and in this role will play a leading role in determining how best to use technical resources to support Bright Health’s efforts to revolutionize the payer industry. This role will own the strategy and execution of product development with business and technical stakeholders. This role will oversee the prioritization of several engineering scrum teams to bring a product vision to life.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive product vision and strategy in consumer experiences in alignment with the greater Bright Health Product Strategy
    • Manage the entire product development cycle from strategic planning to launch and post-launch optimization
    • Recommend the most effective, highest quality, most appropriate solution; utilize conflict management skills in negotiating agreement among all parties.
    • Drive alignment on our product strategy across many business stakeholders
  • Drive adoption of standardization, automation, scalability, and agility practices across components of the various systems and tools
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog review and prioritization, and retrospective activities all while representing the “voice of the customer”
    • Ensure accomplishment of key product OKRs
    • Create detailed roadmaps, prioritize relentlessly, and communicate trade-offs internally
  • Identify and fix process gaps around execution, roll-out, and ongoing support of software and data-oriented projects
  • Document and disseminate both internal documentation as well as business-facing and business-appropriate reference materials that reflect the detailed configuration of Bright Health products.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field, or equivalent practical experience required;
  • Eight (8) years work experience in a related field required
  • Three (3)+ years at a healthcare technology company, pure technology company, or technology or strategy consulting firm preferred
  • Experience coordinating multiple cross-functional teams (including UX Design) and initiatives required, ideally through an Agile framework
  • Demonstrated leadership in product definition and implementation required
  • Experience utilizing digital analytics tools such as Pendo and/or Google Analytics in product strategy decision-making.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence and Asana preferred
  • Experience working with and planning for heavy design dependent experiences that may necessitate consumer research, concept testing, and/or integration with a design system.
