Product Documentation Specialist/Developer

The Product Documentation Specialist/Developer is responsible for the design, development, and governance of OnShift product documentation. Including but not limited to release notes, how-to guides, feature overviews, feature helper materials, and training materials in various formats. This role works collaboratively with various roles – including the Product Manager, Product Owner, Product Marketer, and the CS Enablement Coordinator to help our users understand and realize the value of our products. Your audience is OnShift Users from Caregivers to Senior Executives and all OnShift employees.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Develop strategic documentation plans for the content and its organization which maximizes usage
  • Develop documentation governance to ensure content is consistently developed, aligned to, and maintained
  • Work with Product Owners to translate user-story release notes to release notes for external and internal audiences.
  • Work with Product Marketing to ensure documentation is produced with a value-first problem-solution mindset.
  • Work with the CS Enablement Manager to ensure documentation is available to our end-users at time of release.
  • Assist CS Customer Enablement Manager with LMS content development
  • Understand all user personas so content is delivered that speaks directly to their needs.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and Subject Matter Experts so that documentation is maintained.
  • Participate in bi-weekly sprint reviews to stay current with active product development.
  • Continually build content as features are developed so that documentation is available immediately post release.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

  • 4-year degree in communications, or certification with comparable work experience
  • Experience or familiarity with eLearning authoring tools (or similar tools)
  • Experience or familiarity with Azure Dev Ops and Aha! a plus
  • Demonstrated experience developing compelling release notes, documentation, and other end-user materials
  • Knowledge of varied learning techniques, instructional design concepts, and software used for computer-based training
  • Experience working with end users and online communities to facilitate feedback and engagement
  • Ability to articulate complex technical topics into easy-to-comprehend messaging and assets
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Passionate about the ability to create engaging multi-media content designed to help people learn
  • Highly organized and detailed
  • A can-do, positive attitude with an ability to get things done
