Lead Web Application Developer (Front end/Back end)

Cortica is looking for a Lead Full Stack Software Engineer to join its growing team! As a member of this team, you believe that technology can make life better for patients and healthcare providers. Some of our projects include development of new features and functions in our custom practice management system, including advanced algorithmic scheduling, authorizations management, and enrollment capabilities; integration of multiple medical record systems with CRM, practice management, and HRIS; custom app development for patient, provider, and operator use.

What will you do?

You will be reporting directly to the Head of IT Operations and working closely with the CTO, DevOps engineering, and product development teams
You will build software that delights users and makes lives better - for patients, parents, providers, and operators
You will inherit a modern tech stack and will be fully empowered to architect and design it going forward: Node.js (backend), Typescript/React (frontend), AWS (Lambda, RDS, Aurora SQL), Serverless Framework, Netlify, CircleCI
You will be quickly hiring exceptional software engineers to lead Cortica's in-house development, as well as establishing third-party development contracts to bolster and accelerate the in-house team
You will lead a team of exceptional software engineers eager to build great experiences for patients, providers, and operators in a fast-paced, fast-growing healthcare startup
You are willing and excites about being hands on!
You will be responsible for assigning yourself tickets and being intimately familiar with the code, the full development stack, and the development roadmap
You will collaborate with product leaders to create delightful UI/UX, feature and functionality designs
You will ensure high quality code is developed efficiently and effectively
You will collaborate with DevOps to develop a lean and mean CI/CD stack promoting rock-solid QA, UAT, and security.
You will continuously improve code development and deployment processes.

We’d love to hear from you if:

You have experience building applications using React / Node.js / Javascript / Typescript / GraphQL, YAML, AWS serverless/Lambda step functions, and MySQL
You can easily navigate between Backend and Frontend architectures
You love to delight others by helping them solve problems through technology, making the complicated simple, and connecting their needs to solutions in a positive way
You enjoy solving complex and often ambiguous problems as part of a highly skilled team
You have many years of experience creating delightful web based and/or mobile applications, preferably in a healthcare setting
Proven experience in data architecture and designing efficient and scalable data models
You have experience with Serverless Framework is a plus
You have experience coding integrations with Salesforce, Athenahealth API's a plus
You have experience leading small in-house and/or offshore development teams is a plus
