Overview:
Otter Products is searching for a Front-End Web Developer that can make anything happen on the front-end of our websites, while maintaining pixel perfect standards and code purity. This position can be based in one of our US office locations (Fort Collins, CO or San Diego, CA) or can be based 100% remotely in the US. You will be working with our eCommerce team which is responsible for managing online brand stores for OtterBox, B2B and Liviri. In addition, you will partner with merchandisers, designers, user experience designers, and back-end web developers, and other resources collaborating, planning, developing and deploying beautiful web work.

The Front End Developer uses professional knowledge, concepts and company objectives to implement the visual elements seen by visitors to all Otter Products brand and B2B websites and other online and/or mobile environments. This member of the eCommerce team partners and collaborates with cross-functional internal and external resources to plan, develop and deploy high quality web/mobile app designs capturing customer/consumer interest to drive sales.

  • Write HTML and CSS for the UI of new products
  • Integrate HTML, CSS, JQuery and JavaScript with the core code
  • Manage online experiential content for product launches, design changes, promotions, etc.
  • Develop clean, intuitive designs for the user interface on all company websites and other online/mobile environments to create a positive customer experience
  • Create content and online experiential management focused on brand engagement and consumer brand experience and ensure it is consistent, strong and unified in online initiatives
  • Identify and implement new web technologies to enhance Otter Products’ brand experience
  • Create and document development specifications and work completed in Git hub
  • Define scope/estimates for development activities through Agile Sprint process and Scrum methodology to manage our programs and workloads
  • Use Javascript, JSON, REST, PHP, XML and web services (SOAP), and integration with 3rd party systems frequently to support our websites
  • Provide technical insight, thoughts and feedback to the team on various projects
  • Working cross functionally with marketing, information technology and e-commerce teams internally
  • Collaborate with merchants and UX/UI team to interpret and execute designs
  • Create cascading style sheets (CSS) that are consistent across all browsers and platforms
  • Maintain graphic standards and branding throughout the product's interface
  • Promote usability best practices
  • Provide critiquing and reasons for why to or to not do something when working with design teams, as it related to building it out
  • Develop Otter Product brand sites as the leader in B2C and B2B online engagement by offering usable and compelling content
  • Work with mobile and web based design constraints, editors and browser platforms
  • Support and maintain a positive safety culture by following all safety policies and procedures and actively contributing to a safe working environment

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
  • Four years’ experience in web design, including designing modern, mobile-first web experiences required.
  • Three years’ experience building responsive web interfaces with HTML5/CSS3/JS required.
  • Knowledge in UX/UI design practices for responsive design preferred
  • Experience with JavaScript, B2C Commerce Cloud (Demandware), B2B Commerce Cloud (CloudCraze and Lightning) and Wordpress preferred
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite ® preferred
