THE CHALLENGE


Eventbrite is seeking a Principal Frontend Software Engineer to join us in our mission to bring the world together through live experiences. Last year alone, our platform processed over 150 million tickets across over 3 million events organized by our creators. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to build beautiful, responsive, delightful, and intuitive user interfaces that our creators and attendees are excited to use every day.


THE ROLE


The Eventbrite Ads team is tackling a new challenge by building a new internal ad platform that aims to help our creators get better results with their marketing dollars. Our team is currently looking for a customer obsessed, highly collaborative, and entrepreneurial person to join our scrappy squad bringing this new platform out of beta and into a revenue generating powerhouse. You will contribute to Eventbrite engineering’s culture of technical excellence through inclusivity, knowledge sharing, and mentorship. THE TECH STACK


Currently our frontend is a monorepo that deploys a Django application. In several parts of our site we leverage React to render the UI. We are at a pivotal point with engineering where we are exploring the use of module federation, micro-frontends, and BFFs (Backend for frontend). This role will play a major part in shepherding the team away from the legacy infrastructure into a new more modern stack.

THE SKILL SET

  • Strong frontend experience (JS, Typescript, React, Webpack, etc)
  • Experience building using BFF pattern, micro-frontends, or using federated modules
  • Experience with MySQL, Aurora, or other RDBMS
  • You have experience designing and developing APIsYou care about making sure your code is maintainable and well tested
  • You bring knowledge of test driven development and do it in your day to day
  • You can influence architectural designs across the stack
  • You are a pragmatic programmer that understands how to balance quality, time to ship, and cost
  • You have experience with AWS & Terraform
  • You are familiar with CICD tools and processes
  • You can improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
  • You have a holistic approach to quality
  • You can turn ambiguity into action
  • Ability to work cross functionally and across several teams
