CESA 6 is seeking a full-time Web Developer, who will primarily be responsible for providing programming skills for development and maintenance of the frontend and backend for the Web Solutions developed web applications and CMS4Schools customer sites. This position includes interactions with customers, web developers and other staff. This position further requires the ability to communicate effectively, manage and prioritize short-term and daily work efficiently, and possess an in-depth understanding of modern websites and evolving coding standards. This position will also be responsible for setting specifications and features for the development cycle of an application, determining all needed development environments and tool sets; completing programming using web-based languages through the use of standard web-programming software, and designing and conducting post development interface and functionality tests. The essential functions for this position include: * Create and modify the master frontend code for custom and templated websites. * Implement new sites from master templates for customer websites. * Provide escalated support to issues reported from support staff and troubleshoot frontend issues and provide recommendations to staff and users, as required. * Work with the Web Solutions team to establish timelines for customer website development and maintenance projects. * Collaborate with Web designers to create modern website designs. * Create web assets from approved design files. * Establish technical requirements with the guidance of associated Product and/or Technical Managers in order to then provide level of efforts for proposed product features. * Write code to support defined applications through the use of backend, frontend web languages with standard database architecture and integrating with third-party API specifications. * Troubleshoot development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms. * Communicate updates, status, and details with team members. * Explore best solutions and opportunities to provide the best possible products to meet clients expectations, strive to go beyond clients expectations on a regular basis, and add value to the agency as a whole and to job accomplishments. * Perform other duties as assigned. Additional functions of this position include: * Collaborate with sales and support team members to plan and schedule projects. * Collaborate with development team members to update the current web applications and plan future projects. * Document functionality of templated and custom projects through online documentation and video applications. * Update job knowledge by researching new web technologies and software products as it applies to the work of the Web Solutions team. * Participate in educational opportunities. Research and read professional publications.


The individual hired for this position will possess a Bachelor's degree or have related work experience and/or programming certifications. Knowledge of best practices in website development, responsive nature, user experience, and Web Accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0) is required. Qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate expertise and work/hands-on experience in the following areas: * Web application development. * Managing website development projects. * Normalized databases and Structured Query Language (SQL). * Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. * HTML, CSS, Javascript, Javascript and CSS-based libraries / frameworks (Bootstrap, Vue, Saas, etc.). * Creating web assets from Adobe Photoshop. * ColdFusion or PHP and SQL.
