Every day, in nearly 100 countries around the world, millions of people depend on Daktronics scoring and display systems for information and entertainment. Our displays provide vital travel information in airports and train stations and along highways. They advertise the price of gas, store specials, and more as you make your daily commute. They also enhance spectators’ experiences at sporting events of all kinds, from Little League to the major leagues.

Daktronics has a dedicated staff of experienced Control Systems Specialists who conduct training sessions to educate customers on how operate their displays and maximize the impact of their systems. These employees are trained in game day operations and support hundreds of live events each year. They provide customers assistance with personalized training to ensure they have a thorough understanding of their Daktronics control systems. Through this training customers gain the knowledge and understanding required to effectively operate their Daktronics system. They act as a trainer, consultant, and integrator for Daktronics control systems.

The position is a home-based position when not traveling, close proximity to an International Airport is required. Open to discussion with various U.S. locations.

  • Analyze, design, and implement solutions and train customers on operational aspects of their Daktronics control systems.
    • Minimum of 50-60% annual travel to customer sites, in the United States and/or internationally via ground and/or air travel. Travel during peak seasons (Spring/Fall) increases to 80-90%.
    • Provide software and systems training in person or via Webinar.
    • Solid knowledge of Daktronics control systems and aptitude to train on any Daktronics system or supported system.
    • Ability to quickly learn new products, advanced trouble-shooting skills, and ability to analyze successes, failures, and improvements to ensure continued growth. Ability to understand technology and information flow required.
    • Provide consultations and assist customers with software, hardware, and production needs.
    • Assist Daktronics customers in the design and layout aspects of their production.
    • May represent Daktronics at trade shows, sales meetings, and product demonstrations.
    • Provide on-site technical and event support. Able to set up and test equipment before events and take down equipment after.
    • Be available to work evenings and/or weekends to support customer event schedules.
  • During Non-Travel Time:
    • Complete project documentation and deliverables.
    • Assist in producing training materials that could include documented guides, videos, and training tutorials. These training materials could be for company employees or customers.
    • Participate in internal development meetings as a stakeholder representing our Live Events customers.
  • Ability to build effective relationships both with customers and internal employees.
  • Demonstrated composure and ability to perform in high pressure situations; easily adaptable to change.
  • Strong presentation skills.
    • Ability to connect with your customers. Ability to adapt your presentation and teaching skills based on the situation presented. Ability to communicate the information in the timeframe required.
  • Strong communication skills.
    • Complete project preparation, daily project update paperwork, and all deliverables for each project within specified timeframes.
    • Communicate with supervisor on interactions with customers, status of projects, and accomplishments.
    • Provide appropriate documentation/status reports of work as required.
  • Represent the company positively and effectively in all situations.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably related to the following disciplines: Computer Science, Graphic Design, Education, Marketing, Broadcast Production, or other related degree.
  • Operation of Daktronics control equipment extremely desirable. Front End Video equipment experience preferred. Game Day experience in a Daktronics control room and graphics software knowledge beneficial.
  • Self-motivated with dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
  • Be able to prioritize effectively and attend to a broad range of tasks. Ability to work on multiple responsibilities and to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
  • Strong customer service, communication, listening, and interpersonal skills required. Ability to successfully participate as a member of a team.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal. Fluency in Spanish a plus.
  • Ability and desire to learn and teach others. Highly organized and detailed orientated. Self-motivated and ability to show initiative.
  • Ability to learn new software and technology quickly and independently.
  • Ability to understand technology and the process of troubleshooting.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to work at a variety of heights, ability to lift and carry computers, control equipment, and similar items up to 50 pounds. Ability to distinguish and identify wire colors.
  • Ability to travel extensively to customer sites by air or ground transportation. Ability to travel both domestic and internationally. Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked.
  • Ability to be available to work evenings and/or weekends to support facility event schedules.
  • Ability to meet all workplace safety requirements, which includes following safety protocols related to COVID-19.
