Software Engineer - Programmer

WWC Global is looking for a Cloud Based Software Engineer - Programmer to support a Software Engineering team of technical professionals focused on providing O&M support for a series of legacy applications and data/content recently deployed into a new external Microsoft Cloud environment. These legacy applications/content have been implemented on Microsoft Azure and O365 Cloud environments.

We are looking for applicants with exceptional technical and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong virtual relationships with team members to promote improved operations through continuous performance improvement of Mission Operations. Strongest candidates are proactive self-starters known to identify areas for improvement, initiate processes & enhancements to increase productivity and performance. Strongest candidates will also be highly effective working in virtual environments and have the discipline and work ethics to succeed in virtual work environments.


As directed by the team’s IT Project Manager, the applicant may perform the following tasks either individually or as a member of the Software Engineering team:

  • Monitor the performance/accessibility of the Legacy applications and content stored within the cloud environment.
  • Apply security and/or custom/COTS SW patches as needed to keep applications operating at secure levels dictated by the Cloud ATO security controls.
  • Coordinate application support with the IT Project Manager and Software Engineering team. Respond to issues with legacy applications as submitted via the customer and coordinated through the software engineering team and lead.
  • Interface with the Cloud DevSecOps team as needed regarding the use of cloud services and the established code repositories and CI/CD pipelines.

Expected salary range: $94,000 - $134,000

This position is contingent on contract award.

Work Environment:

  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, talk, and hear.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science; Information Systems, Software Engineering, or relevant discipline
  • 2-5 years of full-time software administration/engineering experience.
  • Knowledge/Experience with software engineering and/or COTS implementations in Microsoft Azure or O365, or other cloud vendor environments.
  • Knowledge/Experience with SDLC: planning, defining, designing, building, testing, and deployment of applications/tools, or data-related products in a production environment.
  • Knowledge/Experience with using package management solutions, code repositories, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of frontend Development (Angular, JavaScript or TypeScript software development).
  • Knowledge of Backend Development such as: Java, C#, C++, or another statically typed object-oriented language
  • Knowledge or exposure to configuring and/or implementing COTS software solutions and enabling integration with other applications, cloud services, and data layers (structured and unstructured data content).
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in large complex IT projects.
  • Ability to thrive in a matrixed teaming environment with a strong customer service ethic.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform requirements gap analysis against out-of-the-box application/system functionality and suggest best practice solutions.
  • Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to pass a federal background investigation including fingerprinting.
  • Must be able to support the client during Mountain Standard Time (MST) hours.
  • Executive Order 14042, the vaccine mandate for federal contractors, is enjoined and not currently being enforced. Yet the OSHA ETS has recently been reinstated, requiring business of 100 employees or more to comply. Personnel must comply with the vaccine requirements of the ETS.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. WWC Global will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Systems Engineering, ITIL best practices, and Scrum/Agile delivery.
  • Knowledge with any of the following: REST, SOAP, RPC, AJAX, WebSockets, etc.
  • Knowledge/Experience with claim-based authentication – OAUTH.
  • Experience with package management solution.
  • Knowledge of Software Configuration Management tools.
  • Experience supporting Sandia.
  • Experience supporting NNSA.
