The candidate will be based in USA (working 9am - 6pm PST schedule), but this position is fully remote.

Requirements

Job Duties

  • Join BRON’s Interactive game development team on the ground floor, and contribute your ideas to help shape our games
  • Work together with the design lead, art team, and engineers to conceive, implement, and iterate on core design features for BRON’s first video game
  • Take full level ownership of designing a core library of interactive objects for gameplay: from paper design, through the gray box phase, scripting, iteration, debugging, optimization – until the game ships
  • Implement and script gameplay components in Unreal 5's blueprint system
  • Contribute ideas to current systems - crafting, monetization, rewards, customization, narrative - and assist with updating documentation and implementation
  • Block out and build fun-sized levels in Unreal 5, and iterate through playtesting and feedback from team members
  • Work with the art team to ensure game design assets are up to the highest visual quality, while ensuring the game is fun to play
  • Provide troubleshooting, debugging and problem-solving assistance to other areas of game design and art
  • Proactively identify cross-discipline challenges and risks to the project and offer solutions

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional game design experience with an established studio
  • At least 1 successfully shipped AAA mobile title where you fully owned multiple gameplay features
  • Proven experience and expertise in building gameplay in Unreal Engine 4+
  • Proven experience and expertise using Unreal’s blueprint system
  • Intermediate knowledge of, and professional experience with, game design scripting
  • Intermediate knowledge of, and professional experience with, version control software
  • Ability to process, understand, and implement both artistic and technical feedback
  • Ability to describe your game experience as a player, and what makes games fun to play
  • High work ethic and self-motivated
