Principal Software Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure
What you'll do:
- Own the developer metrics and reduce bottlenecks in the software development lifecycle, driving automation, and continuous delivery
- Own our monolith to microservices infrastructural transformation
- Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure management tools
- Own all the stages of the development lifecycle, from conception to release to maintenance/deprecation
- Identify key opportunities for the company to build technical leverage and accelerate the business
- Evaluate and document technical architecture, tools, and processes, strengthening our efficacy
About you:
- Are relentlessly curious about solving hard problems and building an exceptional product
- Understand the tenets of Site Reliability Engineering and can guide others
- Have built release engineering tools and practices to ensure low MTTR
- Have facilitated many build vs buy conversations, and can get the correct outcome for the business at the time of the decision
- Think about risks, security and reliability
- Strong communicator, written and verbal
- Understand large-scale distributed systems in practice, including multi-tier architectures, application security, monitoring and storage systems
Knowledge:
- Experience building on AWS products and infrastructure
- Experience building a service mesh from the ground up, including service proxies,
- Reading proficiency in Golang code, testing and production aspects
- Kubernetes microservices and networking experience
- Familiarity with AWS RDS & Postgres database administration
