We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our SaaS Next Generation Platform team in North America, reporting to a senior manager of Software Engineering.This role could be located in our Tacoma, WA or Austin, TX offices or remote from any US location. We are open to in-office, hybrid remote, or full remote work. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, evaluating, and testing software leveraging microservices as the foundation for Infoblox’s cloud networking applications. What you’ll do:

  • Join an agile SaaS team to design, develop, and maintain features and iteratively deploy services using Infoblox’s cloud-based architecture
  • Help design and implement components of our Next Generation Platform
  • Recommend ways to improve system reliability, efficiency, and quality
  • Work closely with various cross-functional product teams
  • Stay current on key trends, especially in technologies and frameworks like Kubernetes, Docker, ELK/Prometheus

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience, preferably in microservice-based architectures
  • Proficient in Java, C++, Golang, or Python
  • Experience with software design patterns and architecture concepts
  • Ability to design highly scalable distributed systems using different open-source technologies
  • Experience in microservices development and container-based software using Docker and other container technologies is a huge plus
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, CloudFormation, etc.) is a plus
  • Knowledge of DNS protocol and general networking concepts
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
  • Experience in Agile methodologies with software development life-cycle experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE or EE is required and master’s in CS, CE, or EE is preferred

  • After six months, you will…
    • Develop expertise in our core technologies (Golang, Kubernetes, etc.)
    • Gain familiarity with cloud computing patterns and best practices
    • Acquire experience with microservice architecture
  • After about a year, you will…
    • Have hands-on experience implementing infrastructure features
    • Have acquired familiarity with the Kubernetes ecosystem
    • Have worked directly with domain experts and software architects
    • Become a valued contributor of design features and other new ideas
