Position Description
General Overview
We're a maturing start-up that is part of a wildly successful group of digital health companies. Our mission is to deliver a groundbreaking family wellness benefit to the workplace. We provide a variety of services and empowerment to older adults, enabling them to remain independent and at home while also providing support and counseling to their families. Racking up recognition for revolutionary thought leadership and scaling nationally, we are adding an additional Senior Software Engineer to our Technology team, who will report to our Director of Engineering.
The Senior Software Engineer is an integral member of the Tech team, ultimately contributing to the ongoing evolution of the existing portfolio of applications and services. In this position, you will be responsible for developing primarily in Golang and React/Typescript, as well as participating, contributing to, and continuously improving the Agile software development process. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring quality via automated testing, as well as monitoring application performance, uptime, and scale, ideally maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful application design. While a portion of your time will be spent working independently, you will also be required to work with different business units to help translate business objectives into user stories. As such, the ideal candidate will be an efficient team player in an often challenging and fast-paced environment.
Skills and Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a post-graduate software development (full-time, NON-internship)
  • Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language
  • Advanced proficiency in relational and non-relational database technologies
  • Experience writing secure code and developing applications in the cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience proactively diagnosing issues across all layers of the stack
