iOS Engineer


Wheels is a last-mile, shared electric vehicle platform changing the current landscape in last mile mobility. Our products range from shared dockless marketplace to personal ownership and anything in between. We are a low cost, energy efficient way to get from point A to point B… and then some.

We are looking for an iOS Engineer to play a key role in the expansion of the Wheels. You will be building the foundation of our iOS app in Swift and Objective-C. The challenges you will be working on will have spatial and temporal dimensions, dealing with real-life constraints and variance. You will play a vital role in driving these initiatives end-to-end, as well as contributing to architecture and vision of the overall product.

We have already built a global footprint and are now building an elite team to help us accelerate our growth potential.


What You'll Do:

  • Design and build the native iOS software that powers our fleet of Wheels bikes

  • Collaborate with cross functional team to define and design the app

  • Perform checks and write automations to ensure correct functionality of the app

  • Integrate the app with various external data sources including backend APIs, IoT, bluetooth and push notifications

  • Responsible to help maintain code quality, organization and automation

  • Responsible for providing prototypes and proofs of concepts

  • Troubleshoot code for usability, reliability, and edge cases inherent in a global business

  • Take ownership in updating and refactoring as needed

  • Stay up to date on the latest and greatest in iOS technology and development


What You'll Need:

  • An ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant field

  • Proficiency in both Objective-C and Swift

  • Understanding of UX/UI standards and iOS human interface guidelines

  • Familiarity with iOS frameworks (Core Data, Core Animation, Core Graphics)

  • Experience with benchmarking and memory tuning

  • Knowledge of version control best practices with Git and Github

  • Proven experience shipping high-quality product features on schedule

  • Experience in working on high-scale iOS apps

  • Experience with location and map based apps a plus

  • All warehouses work areas/stations are separated by at least 6 feet.

  • Hand washing/sanitizing stations located at each entrance and throughout the facilities.

  • PPE equipment (mask, gloves) will be provided for each team member.

  • Team member temperature checks prior to shift with forehead thermometers.

  • Work areas/tools/vans are sanitized before and after each shift.

  • All inbound and outbound devices at our warehouse are sanitized with disinfectants and UV wands.
