Role Overview

Software Engineers analyze, design, program, and modify software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based or Internet-related computer programs. They use current programming languages and technologies, write code, complete programming, and perform testing and debugging of applications. They complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. Lead Software Engineers may interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications and provide an escalation point for client issues related to software development and support. We’re looking for a Software Engineer who finds creative solutions to tough problems. This individual needs to be comfortable engaging in new technologies and being the first to implement solutions using those technologies. We have immediate opportunities to work on cutting edge solutions and need a creative problem solver that is resourceful in getting things done and is productive working independently or collaboratively. The ideal individual will have solid programming knowledge with Java, SQL database solutions, and messaging frameworks. They should also be familiar with JavaScript interfaces, and have strong experience with unit test implementation in a CI/CD environment.

Responsibilities

Explore new technologies to determine the appropriate implementation patterns.
Perform work on proof of concept projects to validate proposed solutions.
Developing new and modifying existing code.
Mentor less experienced developers.
Able to design, build, and maintain modern web apps for use by internal and external customers
Develop REST APIs and microservices to integrate with internal and external client systems
Work with a product owner within an agile team to define, develop, and estimate user stories and epics.
Work with BA and QA to create and implement automated tests
Ensure the ongoing scalability, security, and maintainability of our products

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of work-related experience, or Master’s degree and 1 year of work-related experience, or 5 years equivalent work-related experience in application development required with proficiency in JavaScript, Angular, Java, and Spring/SpringBoot.

Java or another Object Oriented Programming Language
- Experience with the Spring Framework is ideal
- Unit testing with JUnit and Mockito
RESTful web services and general micro-service development
General understanding of application security best practices
Web Applications using JavaScript frameworks such as Angular and ExtJS
General understanding of querying languages such as SQL
General understanding of CI/CD
General knowledge of Linux/Unix systems
Working in an agile development environment
Application security best practices, with a working knowledge of SAMLv2, OpenID Connect, x.509, TLS
