Job Description

Software Engineer – Java/Angular Developer

Revalize develops a web application platform for manufacturers of complex, engineered-to-order, fluid-handling equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, valves). Our software provides customized search, configuration, quotation, and order processing for their products.

This Software Engineer position requires an experienced software engineer with 3+ years of experience that has proven their ability to perform at a high level. A Software Engineer is expected to design and code new features, fix defects and write tests. They work closely with other engineers within product development, QA and support and will report to the Team Lead Software Engineer, FHS (Fluid Handling Solutions).

Responsibilities

• Create technical designs for new features

• Produce and review estimates for work, ensuring estimates are realistic and achievable.
• Implement and review the infrastructure required to meet technical requirements.
• Assist in establishing design standards, design patterns and best practices and follow them.
• Participate in maintaining, tuning, and repairing applications to ensure they perform to technical and functional specifications.
• Create and maintain unit tests to ensure quality of code.

• Work with the QA team in preparing test cases, plans and procedures.
• Create and document tests necessary to ensure that an application or technical environment meets performance requirements.
• Write and review supporting documents for features developed.
• Investigate new technologies and developments in software engineering.
• Troubleshoot and resolve difficult problems relating to software applications and programs.

• Provide technical leadership by mentoring junior developers, performing code and design reviews.
• Continually update technical knowledge and skills by attending workshops or seminars, reading manuals and accessing new technologies in the software engineering industry.

Qualifications

Skills and Other Requirements

Required Proficiency:

• 3+ years of experience building out new and/or maintaining existing products using Java, Angular2+, HTML5, JS, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Windows, and Linux

• 3+ years of experience redesigning and enhancing existing complex Java applications to address new requirements or code maintenance / refactoring / bugs
• Experience in web development technologies (HTML, JavaScript, ASP, Web Services, etc.)
• Perform thorough testing of all code via BDD/TDD
• Effective written and verbal communicational skills.
• Fluency in English.

Additional Desired Skills:

• JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, Flight, Ember)
• Jenkins and related build tools
• Atlassian Suite: JIRA, Confluence, GitHub
• Experience with fluid handling concepts, including but not limited to pump selection algorithms, compressor selection algorithms, and fluid handling product configuration techniques.

• Mathematical Ability

Education and Experience Requirements

BS degree in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering, or comparable work experience
