Java Developer Instructional Assistant: TEK Global (2 openings)

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are currently seeking a Java Developer Instructional Assistant to join our organization. This person will join our Curriculum & Adult Learning organization. They will be responsible for the following:
Candidates should be able to provide effective support in the classroom and be eager to grow their own technical knowledge. In particular, they should be able to:
- Assist the lead instructor both in and out-of-class in the teaching and administration of the class.
- Display knowledge and/or interest in the following areas: application development i.e., debugging software, pair programming, providing online resources.
What You’ll Do:
Out-of-Class Tasks and Responsibilities:
Assist and/or collaborate with instructor to:
- Grade and/or review assessments, class projects, and other materials
- Enter student grades into LMS software and grading templates
- Update Salesforce data as necessary
- Review curriculum materials and assessments weekly and report to instructor and curriculum development team any proofreading or subject-matter errors
- Assist instructor with preparation of daily agenda to students
- Schedule time with instructor and students to discuss class challenges
- Monitor learner attendance, certifications’ progress, etc.
In-Class Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Monitor class as it is in progress - checking that overall functionality (audio, video, screen appearance, etc.) is working as needed
- Serve as class timekeeper, monitor breaks and other scheduling information
- Monitor students during test-taking and break-out group activities
Note challenges presented during class, including (but not limited to) students who:
- Seem disengaged or uninvolved with class activities
- Are speaking more than other students (dominating) or are typically quiet
