About the job: Lead Software Engineer - 3D visualizations/Web Technologies
The solution may fit into the larger matterport ecosystem, so this job will require deep expertise with BIM (building information modeling), 3D visualization and editing, etc in addition to deep expertise with the matterport API and SDK.
Primary Location: Remote (NY corridor)
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with the Heads of Product and Technology (CPO and CTO respectively) to flesh out the high-level requirements documents and build the functional specification and architectural design document.
- Iterate on key features.
- Experiment on ways to extract pertinent information from a 3D visualization scan (e.g. identify pictures on walls, couch on the floor, windows on the wall, etc).
- Communicate technical results and methods clearly in written form: the team is remote so communication must be effective and written.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with Matterport API & SDK.
- Experience creating BIM (Building Information Modeling) driven web applications.
- Experience working with Javascript and a backend system language (go, java).
- Willingness to learn and work end-to-end, from analysis/modeling to production software.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity - we will be experimenting with different techniques while we finalize a path.
- Experience with web technologies.
- Experience with 3D technologies on the web platform, from creation, modification, and translation.
- Experience with data structures and database systems for efficient real-time storage, retrieval, and updating of said intricate data structures.
- Ownership, not employee mindset - this journey will be taxing but very rewarding.
