This is a hands-on position where you will do everything from designing and building components and cutting-edge features to formulating strategy and direction within the Org. You need to not only be a top developer with excellent programming skills and a stellar record of delivery but also excel at leadership and customer obsession.

The Role

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer III to join our team to create state-of-the-art commercial and consumer application solutions to understand and manage risks, from earthquakes, hurricanes, and floods, to terrorism and infectious disease. The products that you create will delight and empower customers to make informed decisions on Global impact.

Your job will be to work with a team of engineers, UX/UI designers, product managers, technical project leaders, and other Senior stakeholders to innovate and develop applications for RMS customers. Your solutions will leverage the latest advancements in databases, grid computing, hardware-based acceleration techniques, and visualization optimization. Your implementations will utilize RESTful Web Services, 100+ TB of data warehousing/OLAP solutions, large-scale distributed data processing technology, and GPU-based computing in a SaaS environment. Your success means the high quality of deliverables, strong engineering practices, fast time to market, and increased customer satisfaction. We are looking for an experienced, passionate, hard-working, and creative Software Development Engineer III who has experience building innovative Web applications with JavaScript**.** You will have an enormous opportunity to make a large impact on the design, architecture, and implementation of cutting-edge products used by Global customers every day.

In this role, you will:

  • Contribute to multiple Vue/Nuxt, React projects
  • Use and contribute to the internal shared component library, SDKs, utility libraries, etc
  • Engage with an experienced, cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design, and implement innovative enterprise and consumer products
  • Analyze requirements, evaluate risks, architect solutions that delight customers despite technical challenges
  • Prepare technical requirements and software design specifications
  • Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver exceptional-quality work on tight schedules


  • At least 3 years of professional development experience building commercial web apps (SaaS)
  • Significant professional experience working with Vue or experience with React or Angular and a strong desire to transition to Vue
  • JavaScript expertise
  • Experience with unit, integration, and feature testing JavaScript applications
  • Clear and courteous written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience independently implement a product component or feature
  • A passion for creating a 5-star experience for our customers
  • Ability to work well remotely, and/or work well with a remote team

    The anticipated base salary range for this position is $ 92,000.00 to $ 109,500.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual performance incentive compensation.
