Position Description

Lucidus is searching for a Full-Stack JavaScript Developer who can support a portfolio of cloud-native applications hosted on the customer’s Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment. The federal customer is dedicated to improving health outcomes for cancer patients across the globe. We seek an experienced professional who shares our passion for solving complex cancer research challenges through the delivery of innovative, cloud-based systems that raise the ceiling for a wide network of cancer research communities.

The Full-Stack JavaScript Developer will work in an environment that is predicated on strong corporate culture and collaborative partner and customer engagements. This is a full-time remote/telecommute position.

Primary Responsibilities


  • Participates in requirements analysis activities, reviews functional requirements, and produces technical requirements specified for development scope.
  • Provides estimates for tasks derived from functional and technical requirements to support agile planning processes.
  • Contributes to the technical design of cloud-based systems.
  • Responsible for full-stack development and configuration of assigned services, including client-side, server-side, and database components.
  • Contributes to quality of deliverables by producing unit tests to validate new system and feature development.
  • Responsible for contributing to operations and maintenance efforts of the systems and services developed and released into production environments.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js expertise
  • Strong client-side development skill set with experience using JavaScript-based frameworks and libraries, such as React (preferred), Angular, or Vue
  • Experience developing application programming interfaces (APIs) and experienced with OpenAPI specifications (Swagger)
  • Expertise in developing web services to support distributed architectures
  • Experience developing solutions hosted in AWS environments, particularly with AWS’ serverless offerings (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions)
  • Comfortable with NoSQL and relational database engines, particularly of the AWS cloud-native variety (DynamoDB, DocumentDB, RDS, Aurora)
  • Proficient in securing AWS-hosted systems with security services such as AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), AWS Security Groups, and AWS Secrets Manager
  • Experience developing, building, managing, and securing Docker images that are deployed to AWS container services (Elastic Container Registry (ECR), Elastic Compute Service (ECS), and AWS Fargate.
  • Experience developing unit tests using open-source frameworks, such as Jest, Mocha, Jasmine, or similar.
  • Ability to obtain a public trust clearance

Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Familiar with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks, such as CloudFormation, Pulumi, or Terraform (preferred)
  • Understands continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) concepts, and has experience developing/configuring pipelines using Jenkins, CircleCI, Argo, Travis, etc.
  • Understanding of Linux operating systems and bash scripting experience
  • Experience with observability platforms and system instrumentation with products like Sumo Logic, Data Dog, New Relic, etc.
  • Passionate about self-learning
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Comfortable in an agile program environment
