About O ur Internships
Our IT division has opportunities for five ( 5 ) interns to join different teams in at Blue Cross NC from May 24 – July 30. Intern positions include:
Developer/ Application Engineer Intern (2 positions)
Membership & Claim Acquisition Team (1 position) : This team works to support enrollments for members, including claims processing and supporting functionalities. Th e Developer/Application Engineer intern will be converting web service operations from J ava/ J2EE to a newer technology, such as N ode.js .
Desired skills: You have experience with Java, J2EE, Node.js, Web Services, DBMS, or Powershell .
Information Delivery Team (1 position) : This team creates Business Intelligence reports and dashboards . They manage the enterprise data warehouse application (EDW) , among other data assets, on Teradata and Big Data. Th e Developer/Application Engineer intern will work on an application related to Blue Cross NC’s Enterprise Data Warehouse ( EDW ) and create business insights by analyzing, profiling, and manipulating data.
Desired skills: You understand various d atab as e s , d ata s cience , or c omputer e ngineering .
Technical Engineer Intern ( 1 position )
IT Infrastructure Solutions Team: This team delivers support services, including the IT Service Desk, Deskside Support, and Engineering to manage devices and basic applications for Blue Cross NC authorized users. They work closely with application teams and security on business-critical software and monitor the health of end user devices and applications. The Technical Engineer intern will provide feedback and documentation for end-user computing early adopter testing, participate in application and packaging testing , engage in direct Tech customer service, and other end-user computing and IT Infrastructure responsibilities.
Desired skills: You have experience with Windows 10, Office365 Suite, Mac OS Catalina, Big Sur (preferred), Android and IOS experience, scripting Powershell and/or VBscript , C# .
IT Infrastructure Intern (2 positions)
IT Infrastructure Team (2 positions): This team focuses on finding the right tool for the right job , to ensure that Blue Cross NC is constantly improving our technology and processes . The IT Infrastructure interns will work with a diverse technology stack, ranging from Lenox to VM Ware and V Center , and participate in operating system upgrades, scripting and automation, infrastructure patching, roadmap and strategy discussions, and will engage with new technologies at point of concept.
Desired skills: You have experience with ControlUp , Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, and some communication and quantitative analysis skills.
You will graduate from an accredited university with an undergraduate degree in December 2021 or May 2022.
You’re willing and able to work 40 hours per week for 10 weeks from May 24 – July 30 .
You will be located in North Carolina or South Carolina during the time of the internship program .
You’re legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require sponsorship for employment visa status .
