Javascript Engineer - Core5

Position Overview:
We are looking for a motivated Javascript Application Engineer to join our Core5 product team. We enjoy collaborating and have an undying passion for building great products that touch the lives of students and educators worldwide. Mentored by Senior Engineers, this role will work closely with fellow engineers, designers, and educators to create engaging student learning products that work consistently across multiple platforms that delight our students.

  • Currently, this role is a telecommuting position. Post-COVID, co-location in our Concord, MA office preferred.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Write efficient, readable, maintainable, and testable code.

  • Interact with engineers, educators, and UI/UX teams to quickly understand requirements, prototype, and build applications.

  • Build with React / React Native to create custom frontend educational activities

  • Debug and add features established code base

  • Participate in code reviews.

  • Identify and communicate any unforeseen impact of application changes to stakeholders

  • Work as part of an agile team representing CMS Services, and participate in SAFe/agile planning.


  • 6+ years of application development experience; degree in Computer Science preferred

  • Excellent collaboration skills to communicate and work with cross-functional teams

  • Impeccable attention to detail

  • Self-motivated and conscientious

  • Takes pride in your work, strong follow-up skills

  • UI/UX experience preferred

  • Passion for education preferred

  • JavaScript ES6, HTML5, and CSS3

  • React / React Native to build Single Page Applications

  • Redux, React DnD, React Router, RxJS

  • Node and NPM

  • Experience with TypeScript preferred

  • Writing unit tests or TDD

  • macOS, bash/shell scripting, Bitbucket/Git

  • JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket

  • Amazon Web Services
