Description:

The Javascript Developer analyzes customer needs and creates software that considers functionality and the operating environment. This position supports Veterans Affairs (VA) and is performed remotely.

  • Follows VIP OI&T Delivery framework and overarching VA guidance (One-VA Technical Reference Model (TRM)
  • Uses POLARIS calendaring tool, VIP Request (VIPR) portal, GitHub, JIRA, and ServiceNow
  • Participates as a member of the development support team
  • Analyzes customer needs and requirements
  • Considers current architecture and operating environment
  • Develops overall concept and design objectives
  • Creates software in a variety of programming languages
  • Considers future functionality and enhancements
  • Participates in code reviews
  • Analyzes technical issues
  • Assess and corrects errors in computer programs
  • Debugs programs when the need arises
  • Writes and tracks software documentation
  • Provides support to testers and users
  • Works closely with senior software developers
  • Applies the Agile methodology
. Requirements:

Minimum/General Experience: Two (2) years of experience with software development and implementation

Minimum Education: Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other related field is required; or an additional 8 years of relevant experience

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years’ experience (professional) with software development and implementation
  • Two (2) years’ experience (professional) in debugging and correcting errors in computer programs
  • Experience (professional) with service orientation concepts
  • Proficient software design skills
  • Proficient software support skills
  • Experience (professional) using Agile methodologies
  • Experience (professional) with system architecture
  • Experience (professional) with object-oriented software design
  • Ability to write thorough software documentation
  • Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility and accessibility compliance
  • Experience (professional) with web API services (e.g., REST and SOAP.)
  • Experience (professional) with rational database management systems (RDBMS) (e.g., Oracle, SQL.)
  • Experience (professional) with JavaScript and Java EE
  • Experience (professional) with AngularJS
  • Experience (professional) with jQuery
  • Experience (professional) with Spring
  • Experience (professional) with rational database management systems (RDBMS) (e.g., Oracle, SQL.)
  • Experience (professional) with WebLogic
  • Experience (professional) with JPA/Hibernate
  • Experience with rules and BPM Engines (preferred)
  • Experience with REST API (RESTful API) (preferred)
  • Experience with GitHub, Jira, Confluence (preferred)
  • Experience with Ansible and Terraform (preferred)
  • Experience with REACT and Python (preferred)
