The American Board of Radiology (ABR) is an independent, not-for-profit organization and one of 24 national medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties. We were founded in 1934 to protect the public by assessing and certifying doctors who meet specific educational, training, and professional requirements.

The ABR is seeking a dynamic Software Developer to join its IT Department, which comprises a fully remote and highly qualified team of professionals who work together in an agile software development life cycle to produce, service, and support the evolving technology and programming needs of the ABR.

. Requirements:

JOB DUTIES include but are not limited to:

  • Build new applications and convert old applications using our modern technology stack
  • Code, test, and maintain programs using JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and Aurelia
  • Debug problems with applications using appropriate techniques and methods
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding the information being processed, stored, or accessed
  • Work with other developers, testers, and stakeholders to build and support business applications
  • Keep current with and update technical skills
  • Lead project teams where appropriate
  • Mentor team members, and act as technical resource for IT staff
  • Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of experience with front-end web frameworks, such as React, Vue, Angular, or Aurelia
  • Strong knowledge of web development including DOM, JavaScript (ES 6 or above), HTML, CSS
  • Experience building RESTful APIs
  • Experience with Node.js
  • Experience using Redux (or other Flux implementations), Typescript, or Sass preferred
  • Experience working with relational data structures (MSSQL, Oracle) preferred
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or deployment pipelines preferred

  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot and debug complex applications.
