Duties

  • Expert-level of Cloud knowledge and must be familiar with the policies and procedures used by other Federal, State, and private industry organizations to plan and carry out complex and difficult tasks.
  • Applying the development of Virtual and Cloud Systems Engineering processes used in the modernization process/pipeline sufficient to build entire Cloud ecosystems designed to run Enterprise Applications in IaaS, PaaS and SaaS environments.
  • Advanced skill in IT theories, principles, concepts, standards, and practices sufficient to serve as expert and consultant to management officials to advise on integrating IT programs,
  • Applying overall technical solutions from requirements gathering, through planning, implementation, and decommissioning in support of modernization sufficient to migrate large enterprise applications from on-premises to the Cloud.
  • Reviewing and establishing automation, policies, and procedures sufficient to establish guardrails to protect and isolate OPM Cloud workloads.

Qualifications

For the GS 14: You must have the Basic and Specialized Experience as listed:

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: You must have Information Technology (IT) related experience that demonstrates proficiency in each of the following competencies. Do you have:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, considering the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (GS-13) or equivalent in the Federal Service (or equivalent) which includes all of the following: Delivering innovative, cost-effective, and secure information management solutions that support and provides leadership and technical direction to all customers in the areas of production operations and control, systems equipment and data communications configuration, system and applications security, systems software maintenance, customer support, training, systems acceptability testing, applications design and documentation, and application programming.
