Ada Developers Academy is a non-profit, tuition-free coding school for women and gender expansive adults. We focus on serving Black, Latine, Indigenous, and Pacific Islander communities, low income people, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Our program consists of two highly immersive parts: six months of focused instruction, and five months of internship at partner companies, where students refine their skills working on real-world code.


About this position

We are looking for a Technical Curriculum Developer to design, develop and maintain technical learning content and curriculum. As a member of our Education team, you will also be responsible for incorporating feedback from the Instructional Team to continually improve the curriculum. This is a full time position (40 hours per week) with a salary range of $90,000-$100,000 (DOE) and excellent benefits.


Core responsibilities

  • Develop creative learner-centered programming, modules, and materials in multiple modalities, including blended classroom learning, interactive e-learning modules, videos, hands-on review sessions, instructor guides and resource materials

  • Evaluate existing documentation to identify the most appropriate training approach

  • Ability to apply adult learning principles and incorporate this into curriculum design and development.

  • Ensure our curriculum does not perpetuate white supremacy culture


Essential qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Software Developer required

  • Professional or volunteer teaching experience in an educational institution or program

  • Experience in developing lessons, projects or technical curriculum.

  • Recent hands-on experience with Python, Flask, JavaScript, and/or React

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven history of cultivating effective and authentic relationships with others

  • Demonstrated embodiment of Ada’s values in a professional environment
