We are searching for a Full stack developer for CRT and other applications. The project will transition the Company Review Tool POC into a production-ready system, and assist in various web development projects in pipeline including T-IPSE POC and D-IPSE WEB.
This is a remote role with a one time requirement to appear in Suitland, MD for government issued badge and equipment (travel allowance will be provided).
SAS to Python Migration: StEPS and StEPS II are currently dependent on SAS language for backend processing. The goal of SAS to Python Migration is to modernize the applications by moving the backend logic to Python. Moving to Python can improve performance significantly by eliminating the need to work on file-based datasets and by directly loading data from database into memory. After successful migration of TSAR processing to Python, Legacy StEPS and StEPS II backend processing will be migrated to Python. The contractors may also be useful for developing python programs to support upcoming AIES integration with TSAR.
Knowledge Transfer: Currently both StEPS and StEPS II backend processing is written using SAS language to perform data processing including complex math-based algorithms. The contractors will work closely with Senior SAS developers to understand the survey backend processing. They will be responsible for documenting the backend SAS macro functionality into flowcharts and/or pseudo code. They will understand the working of RunProcesses module which is vital to StEPS II nightrun processing that shall allow them to support the daily helpdesk activities.
Summary of Major Job Functions:
Under GS-13’s supervision, write python code to migrate existing SAS programs to Python.
Under GS-13’s guidance, perform helpdesk activities involving troubleshooting of routine production issues.
Understand StEPS and StEPS II architecture with the goal of knowledge transfer from Senior staff.
Under the supervision of GS-13, the two contractors will utilize their Python knowledge to migrate TSAR SAS macros to Python. The GS-13s will be responsible for collaborating with Math Stats to understand the processing algorithm and communicate the requirements to the contractors
The contractors will work closely with Senior SAS developers, on understanding the survey backend processing. If they don’t know SAS language, they will be trained for basic SAS. They will also be involved in daily helpdesk activities which will speed up the knowledge transfer.Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science
- Python development - 5 years
- Java Development – 5 years
- Relation database writing complex SQL queries – 3 years
- Ms Visio or similar tool documenting flowcharts
- Experience writing pseudo code
- SAS language knowledge
- Good communication skills
- In order to meet the clearance requirements for this opportunity, candidates must be a US Citizen.
- Ability to pass a US Public Trust background investigation for access to the client site and computing systems. You must have lived in the US for the past three (3) years.

- The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $150,000 annually.
- This role is remote with headquarters in Suitland, MD.
