Emulation Engineer:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and update custom conveyor modules that mimic real world physics and geometry needed for emulation.
  • Develop, maintain, and update internal process documents to aid in consistency from one project to the next.
  • Working knowledge of scripting and programming languages (i.e. Python, C#, JavaScript, Java)
  • Working knowledge of PLC Ladder Logic and OPC Communications.
  • Have a good working knowledge of all relevant conveyor types (such as Baggage Handling, CDLR, Skid, OHP&F, etc.) pertinent to the industry in which they are working. Includes mechanical and controls operation.
  • Read Scope of Work for a system and understand what is required or ask questions of the PM/PE to get clarification.
  • Ensure the quality of goods and services to both internal and external customers.
  • Engage with customers effectively as needed on projects.
  • Working knowledge of computer aided drafting and 3D modeling software.
  • Travel responsibilities may include site visitation for data gathering and customer interaction.
  • Works alone or with project team and communicate well with the project lead and or project manager.
  • Attends and actively participates in project meetings.
  • Understands and follows Kasa Engineering Process Manual procedures.
  • For remote employees, travel to main office as required.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instruction, either written or verbal, diagram or schedule.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers in a one-on-one and/or group setting.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, converting them back and forth.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Ability to work with confidential customer data.
  • Must have skills in organization, prioritization, and time management.
  • Ability to work under stress to meet project deadlines and have attention to detail.

Work Environment:
This position operates in an office setting. It routinely requires using standard office equipment, such as computer, phones, copiers, fax machines, etc. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm. Occasional evenings and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel may be required.

Physical Demands:
Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to occasionally climb permanent and temporary stairs, climb ladders, negotiate work areas under construction, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally requires use of construction personnel hoists. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job regularly requires use of hands to touch, handle or manipulate objects, tools, or controls. Performing this job also regularly requires the ability to sit, stand, talk and hear. Employee must occasionally life and/or move heavy weight. Employee must be capable of using tools, and able to help install equipment and make adjustments/modifications to that equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works on-site at the construction worksite where the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in this work environment can be moderate to very loud.
