We’re seeking a dynamic, creative individual with a strong background in both computer coding and teaching to join our team as a Content Developer to help us expand our catalog of courses and content.

About the Role

  • Location: Dallas, TX HQ or US Remote (Currently Fully-Remote)

  • Schedule: Full Time (M-F)

  • Type: Temp to Hire

As a Content Developer, you’ll…

  • Design, develop, and produce immersive learning experiences centered around visual storytelling, creative problem solving, interactive content, and unique projects in computer coding

  • Author engaging and approachable lessons, quizzes, and projects while developing a narrative voice that empowers learners and breaks down complex concepts into simple components.

  • Create effective and beautiful videos, images, and slides that people want to watch (that don’t look like advertisements)

  • Collaborate with the content team, providing feedback and editing together to ensure that all content is developed to standard

  • Work cross-functionally with content, engineering, product, design, education and marketing teams to bring your best ideas to life

  • Audit our existing content catalog to identify opportunities for improvement

  • Learn and develop your domain knowledge across our entire catalog

  • Research current industry trends, best practices, and educational standards

  • Implement evaluation methodologies to monitor content effectiveness

About You

You’ll thrive as a Content Developer if you have:

  • A creative mind capable of conceptualizing and translating unique ideas into digital media

  • Computer Coding experience in one or more general purpose programming languages, including, but not limited to: Python, C#, Swift, Kotlin, Javascript, etc.

  • Recent teaching experience in computer science / coding in either a formal or informal setting

  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum writing or educational content that reaches a wide audience in a digital format

  • A way with words when communicating even challenging concepts, and your writing skills (in English) are top notch.

  • Familiarity with current industry trends and best practices, and you’re comfortable using them to frame concepts to beginners

  • Comfortability with tools like: Github, Markdown, Asana, Google G-Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides), Slack, Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, XD, Premiere Pro, After Effects), Keynote, etc.

  • The ability to context switch and prioritize among a large workload.

  • An openness to change and a willingness to experiment with formats, platforms and approaches.

  • A team player mindset, willing to jump into any aspect of a project to fill a vacuum, no matter how big or small.

  • Intellectual curiosity and an enthusiasm for problem solving

  • A desire to learn and grow, and have the work ethic to follow through on your ambitions

  • The ability to work a consistent schedule and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

You’ll stand out as a candidate if you have:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science and/or Education

  • Professional experience in computer coding as a software engineer or developer

  • Proven experience as a creator - web/graphic design, video production, etc.

  • Experience working in a startup or non-profit environment

  • Experience working in a remote environment

Application Process

  • Your best example(s) of narrative writing to teach a new concept in your coding language of choice

  • A lesson plan sample that is your original work

  • A portfolio of creative content that you have produced - graphics, slides, video, etc

Interview Process

  • Step 1: Informational - learn more about the role and share your experience (~30 minutes)

  • Step 2: Homework (Sample Content Creation Assignment) (~2 hours)

  • Step 3: Interview with Head of Product (~1 hour)

  • Step 4: Final Interview (~1 hour)

  • Note: All interviews are currently being conducted virtually via Google Meet
