Bioinformatics Analyst Student Intern, NEU
Posted on Indeed on Mar 18, 2021

This position is available to Northeastern University students who are currently enrolled and eligible for Co- op. Students are expected to relocate to Portland, ME or Maine vicinity and work remotely for the July 2021 term.

The Jackson Laboratory's Computational Sciences department is offering a great opportunity for a student to use cutting edge technologies and investigate expression and chromatin states in a single cell (scRNA-seq and scATAC-seq). Integration of sequencing datasets is a novel area of data analysis that allows one to extract more information about the transcriptome and validate it using different sequencing methods (bulk RNA-seq and ATAC-seq). Since integration methods are under development, it is crucial to compare them and test on simulated datasets to find the most reliable and accurate tool. Later, the selected integration tool will be used on the sequencing datasets from human airway epithelial cells obtained in the lab.
