Software Engineer - Cloud Development

Our team of scientists and engineers at UES is seeking a creative Software Engineer with expertise in cloud development and a passion for enabling new capabilities to accelerate technology innovation through cloud capabilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on cloud development experience including data ingest, databases, application development, and digital process automation. With these tools in hand, they will have the unparalleled opportunity to influence the cloud capabilities and direction at UES and AFRL (Air Force Research Laboratory) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH, as they work with enthusiastic scientists and engineers to leverage the latest digital tools. The Cloud Developer will play a ground breaking role in evolving the research community from traditional scientists taking handwritten notes to autonomy-enabled data collection systems streaming data into a cloud repository where scientists can more effectively manage these dynamic data streams and communicate insights across the enterprise for accelerated innovation and discovery.

UES is strongly dedicated to a promoting a balanced work life environment, so a typical 40-hour work week can be expected.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Demonstrated experiences designing, building, and deploying cloud-based solutions and applications in the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is preferred, or skills developed from AWS, or Azure which can be migrated to a GCP environment.
  • Expert in Python(preferred), SQL (preferred), Java, C#, or similar languages
  • Excellent communication skills related to technical concepts
  • This position is working within a government facility and requires U.S. Citizenship
