The Technical Data Analyst will serve as an integral part of the Data, Planning and Analysis (DPA) team at NEEA. The Technical Data Analyst will build NEEA’s internal data processing capacity and expertise. This will include designing new data pipelines, executing and improving existing data processes, providing QC and oversight over contractor data deliverables, and supporting the development of data products.

Salary Range: $83,000 - $89,000

The Typical Day May Include…

  • Writing scripts using Python/R or other programming languages to clean and enrich data.
  • Designing repeatable processes to combine raw or unstructured data from multiple sources into clean, structured data sets housed in relational databases.
  • Building and maintaining simple data models.
  • Implementing data validation and QA/QC processes to ensure integrity of datasets.
  • Creating documentation for databases and processes such as schema diagrams, workflows, data dictionaries.
  • Partnering with Market and Data Analysts to build solutions to inform analysis, reporting and insights.
  • Facilitating conversations with cross functional teams to understand reporting and consumption needs; building queries and views to support these needs.
  • Coordinate with IT staff and contractors to ensure infrastructure and performance needs are met.

  • Experience with enriching sales data through model matching a plus.

Your Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems, business, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Data Wrangling.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience with Python/R and SQL.
  • Basic knowledge of Data Engineering a plus.
  • Experience with PostGIS Alteryx, SAS Viya and a basic knowledge of AI/ML a plus.
  • Experience in energy efficiency, or resource conservation a plus.
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience and training that would provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the successful performance of the essential job duties will also be considered.

While NEEA’s office is located in Portland, Oregon consideration will be taken for applicants who may not be in the Portland metro area to work remotely. NEEA will facilitate ongoing off-site work arrangements for employees when such arrangements allow all business commitments to be met at the same level as if the employee were working in the office environment.
