McAfee - Security Engineer

Duties and responsibilities for the Enterprise Desktop Engineering team consist of operational support for the EPA production environment and associated infrastructures, research and design of new software applications/versions, configuration, testing, documentation, and deployment of software clients/patches for the agency. This position will also resolve tickets and incidents submitted by admins and/or end users.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate as a Desktop Engineer on the design, evaluation, deployment, management, support of enterprise applications and infrastructures
  • Participate in administration activities such as patching, upgrades, backups, health checks
  • Package, test and deploy business software packages and updates for the end-user environment
  • Participate in administration of infrastructure and software
  • Execute inventory management processes of end-user hardware and software assets
  • Create scripting solutions with PowerShell for various administrative needs
  • Design and execute custom compliance reports
  • Provide support for tier 2 issue escalations/tickets

Required Skill Set:

  • 3+ years of supporting a large enterprise environment
  • 5+ years of experience designing, implementing and maintaining a desktop environment
  • Experience maintaining and supporting McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator.
  • Experience supporting, at the enterprise level, Application Control solutions (Solidcore preferred)
  • Expert knowledge of Windows operating systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong understanding of Windows OS system settings, management settings and navigation
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory management
  • Strong understanding of patch management software distribution solutions such as SCCM/Endpoint Manager and BigFix
  • Strong understanding of networking, DNS, and infrastructure concepts
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience managing Microsoft Office products
  • Intermediate or higher level Powershell scripting skills
  • Good understanding of enterprise architecture competencies
  • Good understanding of enterprise software license agreements and deployment considerations
  • Good understanding of DISA STIG standards and publications
  • Good understanding of virtualization technologies
  • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and/or Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) certifications a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune a plus
  • Experience with ServiceNow a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $60.00 per year
