FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT

In this hands-on role, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and providing escalated support of solutions regarding intrusion detection, incident response, secure configuration, threat hunting, risk analysis, and forensic investigations. This person will work across departments to deploy technical solutions to meet system and security requirements and will define processes and standards to ensure technical configurations provide inherent security of Care Access information. The engineer will be an advocate for building tools and systems to support our information security program.

Responsibilities

    • Design, implement and maintain security measures, systems, and solutions to protect information and network infrastructure and computer systems.
    • Conduct a security assessment of technical projects and provide recommendations for mitigating security risks
    • Implement solutions that monitor systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions.
    • Participate in the development of the company’s information security plan.
    • Educate and train technical staff on information system security best practices.
    • Assist in the coordination and completion of information security operations documentation, including security-related policies and procedures.
    • Play an advisory role in IT projects to assess security requirements and controls and to ensure that security controls are implemented as planned.
    • Research, evaluate, and recommend information-security-related controls on system and network device hardening practices.


Qualifications

    • Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or relevant certification with sufficient experience
    • Two or more years’ work experience as a System Security Engineer or related position
    • Experience as a software engineer or system administrator who knows how to read and write code
    • Knowledge of common information security management frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, CIS)
    • Proven experience securing cloud environments, networks, and operating systems
    • Knowledge in security concepts and implementing these in practice, such as encryption, access control, network hardening, database security, and OS hardening
    • Proven experience developing, operating, and maintaining security systems
    • Ability to work and learn independently
    • Strong problem solving and communication skills
    • Knowledge of HIPAA, GCP, and other federal/state privacy regulations
    • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are a plus

    • Location: Anywhere in the USA or Boston, MA (Boston is preferred).
