Role Summary:

The Director of Analytics and Reporting identifies areas of strategic focus and develops analytical approaches and methodologies. Oversees a team of data and reporting analysts that use business data and statistical methods to provide insight into past business performance and suggest operational improvements that might impact future business performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee creation and implementation of reporting infrastructure and strategy
  • Manage day-today functions of the departments reporting and business analysts
  • Analyze reports, create trends, and make recommendations to business teams for meaningful data insight
  • Design and build reports and dashboards
  • Develop plan of action for all reports, dashboards, data quality and needed analytics
  • Plan and coordinate data collection in conjunction with internal technology teams and apply statistical methodology to analyze and interpret data
  • Collaborate with technology teams on evolution of data strategy
  • Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
  • Communicate and present data related matters to top-level executives as well as external clients and partners
  • Designs, develops and implements analytical models using appropriate data mining and statistical tools, analyze results and work cross-functionally to generate actionable recommendations
  • Identifies and managers outside vendor relationships, where appropriate

Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Management, Information Technology or Health Systems administration, Advanced Degree a plus
  • 7 + years experience in leading analytics teams
  • Experience with Medicare Advantage Plans, specifically Special Needs Plans (SNPs) including Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reporting requirements for SNP plans for Part C Reporting, Program Audits and Risk Adjustment
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare operational areas, including claims, both pharmacy and medical, enrollment, and utilization management
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and functions
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Datawarehouse, relational databases, database design, and data mining techniques
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with SQL databases and query writing
  • Strong knowledge of reporting and analytics tools, including but not limited to, SSRS, PowerBI, R, Python
  • Experience in analytics leadership roles, preferably with responsibility for multiple analytics functions
  • Experience in data management, analytics, data science, business intelligence and reporting strategy
  • Solid understanding of data protection practices
  • Expert analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at reading/writing queries, report writing and presenting findings
  • Knowledge of ETL/data load processes
  • Experience leading, teaching, and integrating a diverse team
  • Very strong interpersonal skills, can collaborate across many functions and build bridges of trust and mutual respect
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and manage a heavy workload
