About the Team
The Communications and Marketing team is responsible for building and protecting the College Board reputation, overseeing organization's communications efforts, and growing the organization’s three highest priority areas: AP, SAT Suite, and BigFuture, which are designed to increase educational access and opportunity for all students. We are a close knit, dedicated team with a track record of success in promoting the work of the College Board to a variety of audiences, including students, parents, educators, policymakers, the media, member organizations and staff.

About the Opportunity
As a Marketing Automation Data Analyst, you’ll serve as a member of a cross-functional digital campaign team, in which you’ll provide accurate and relevant insights for the purpose of optimizing outbound digital communication including email and SMS campaigns. As an individual contributor, you’ll plan, analyze, develop, test, QA, and deliver and data, reporting, and dashboards using your technical skills to support our excellence goals in how we communicate to students and families as they engage in their college search

In this role, you will:
  • Fulfill data requests from internal customers using a sound understanding of College Board data, systems/platforms, and data policies and governance
  • Create complex data extensions and automation processes using SQL
  • Partner with Digital Production staff to customize data output as required for use in email personalization, dynamic content, and reporting
  • Provide technical support on an as-needed basis by investigating and addressing escalated incidents with data quality
  • Understand Salesforce Marketing Cloud data models, data extensions, and the core system data structure to successfully deliver segmented and tailored messaging to meet business needs
  • Facilitate and participate in detailed data analysis necessary to measure, identify and track the quality of data in an ongoing manner
  • Complete quality assurance of SQL code and data output to ensure business requirements and specifications are met
About You
You have:
  • 4-6 years’ experience in managing and executing data management initiatives, including warehousing, provisioning, and business intelligence
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and expertise in SQL standards and best practices
  • Practical knowledge of DBMS, ETL tools, reporting and analysis tools, and data mining tools. Experience with education related data is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to standard business and project management processes and to handle a variety of work simultaneously, delivering projects on time and on budget
  • Self-motivated and team oriented. Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking with strong abilities in relationship management
  • Experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud or the ability and willingness to quickly learn best practices and development
  • Experience with AWS and/or similar cloud technology is a plus
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to conceptualize and articulate ideas clearly and concisely
  • Strong analytical and data analysis experience with structured problem-solving ability. Experience in business process analysis, design, and documentation
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Additional post graduate degree, MS, or MBS preferred
  • A passion for supporting educational and career opportunities for millions of students
  • Willingness to travel 2-3 times per year or <10% for in-person
