Purpose of Role
Assumes key contributor responsibilities of the valuation team to build functions associated with ensuring the accuracy and integrity of valuation of investment portfolios. Has a strong background in valuation methodology, financial reporting disclosures, and accounting principles to guide portfolio valuations. Proactively leads initiatives to enhance current valuation processes by defining project requirements and designing and building the analytic solutions to increase efficiencies. Able to concisely report and present valuation results to senior leadership.
Prepares report summaries for daily, monthly, and quarterly balance sheet valuations.
Designs and provides improvement of valuation systems.
Prepare and present valuations, assumptions, and supporting detail to the valuation committee.
Prepare and document disclosures for financial statements.
Manage relationship with third-party pricing service providers.
Communicate valuation results with finance team and auditing firms.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education - Required
BS - Bachelor of Science
Education - Field(s)/Profession(s)
Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
5-7 years of experience working in related position
Moderate expertise with database structures and querying languages, such as SQL Server. Visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, SSRS) are a plus
Moderate to expert experience level in Microsoft Excel
Comfortable working with large data sets
Knowledge of financial concepts
Self-starter that demonstrates a strong desire to learn and improve skills set
Critical thinking skills to recommend original and productive ideas
Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable goals
Strong analytical thinking
Ability to multi-task and be flexible
Ability to quickly master new technology and software
Reliable and have ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Mouse or other cursor controller
