Data Engineering Specialist
- Gather, clean, enrich, and transform raw data from different sources into consistent and readable formats.
- Develop and maintain databases while supporting, standardizing and automating all reports.
- Analyze and organize raw data by managing data systems and workflow.
- Implement methods to improve data reliability and quality.
- Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modeling.
- Build algorithms and prototypes with exploring ways to enhance data quality, integrity and reliability.
- Maintain and enhance sales reporting processes.
- Ensure timely receipt of all sales data from internal sources, Internet Resellers and Distributors. Validate data for accuracy and process data for sales reporting.
- Help develop a data warehouse for data analytics and reporting.
- Collaborate with data analyst and 3rd party architects on projects.
- Work effectively and efficiently with 3rd party vendors to maintain and enhance data flow.
- Sales force deployment and alignment - ongoing assessment of sales territories and historical account analysis and mapping.
- Work with sales managers on division/territory specific projects.
- Oversee the development and circulation of ready to use tools for the commercial team.
- Partner with internal team members to automate commercial reporting.
- Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, IT, or similar field.
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a data engineer or similar role. Pharmaceutical or animal health experience preferred but not required.
- Intermediate to advanced SQL knowledge with experience writing applications to interface with SQL databases.
- Data engineering certification (IBM Certified Data Engineer) is a plus.
- Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
- Ability to perform series of data transformations like merging, ordering, aggregating.
- Integrate information from multiple data sources, solving common transformation problems, and resolve data cleansing and quality issues.
- Knowledge of relevant systems required, including advanced Excel, Tactician, Cognos, SQL Plus and Tableau.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Advanced numerical and analytical skills.
- Strategic thinking, analytical and reasoning abilities.
- Ability to manage high priority projects efficiently and effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
- Proven track record of timely decision-making, and results orientation in meeting corporate objectives.
