How You’ll Contribute to the Team

The Infrastructure Administrator uses technical skills to manage, maintain, and integrate cloud and on-prem IT environments. Working independently and in teams, this role will function as a contributor to infrastructure projects as well as providing day-to-day infrastructure administration and support across the enterprise. The ability to ensure systems are updated in a timely manner, backed up, running optimally, and connected efficiently with minimal work disruption, is at the forefront of this role.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Forecast system demand, recommend upgrades, expansion, and reconfiguration.
  • Assist with projects or subprojects including developing project plans and facilitating team process.
  • Document standards and operating procedures for enterprise systems, and act as a technical resource to IT staff and systems users.
  • Install, administer, and optimize solutions to achieve high performance, reliability, and stability of enterprise applications.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors and third-party entities to ensure proper project specification adherence and completion.
  • Monitor system performance and capacity, and report changes in usage.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, take appropriate corrective action and/or interact with IT staff and\or vendors in performing testing, support, and troubleshooting functions.
  • Communicate properly and effectively with outside support entities to ensure system health and availability.
  • Participate in site set-up, user training, hardware/software installation, maintenance and support, and documentation of hardware/software logs and operating procedures.
  • Install new and rebuild existing servers; configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc., in accordance with project and operation requirements.
  • Maintain awareness and apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
  • Plan and implement server upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches, while monitoring and testing system performance and providing performance statistics and reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Role Specific Requirements Include:

  • Associates degree in Computer Science and 5+ years’ experience working with information technology and infrastructure operations. Prior experience as an administrator of cloud and on-prem system integrations is required.
  • Certification from one or more of the following preferred: Microsoft, Nutanix, Cisco or Fortinet
  • Proficient with several of the following IT systems and services:
    • FortiGate Firewall and Fortinet Enterprise Management Server
    • Router and Switch Management
    • WiFi Design, Implementation and Administration
    • Selection, Ordering and Service Management of P2P, WAN and Internet Services
    • Analog Lines
    • Faxing (Analog and Desktop)
    • Zoom Desk Phones, Soft Phones, Call Management and Voicemail
    • Cellular Management including MiFi’s, Corporate Mobile Devices and DCUs
    • Zoom VTC Management
    • Microsoft suite of products; most importantly Server OS, AD, Azure, RDS, SQL, DFS, GPO, SCCM, and O365
    • NTFS File Permissions and Security
    • Nutanix
    • Commvault
    • Working knowledge of backup strategy and PC Imaging a strong plus.
  • Advanced technical problem-solving skills: able to quickly digest any issue/problem encountered and recommend an appropriate solution.
  • Proven ability to support and maintain complex directory services.
  • Ability to manage own time, priorities, and resources and to take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work; proven success achieving results with little oversight.
  • Proven success as a cross-functional collaborator with the ability to find solutions that are acceptable to diverse groups with conflicting interests and needs.
  • Available to provide 24x7 system support, as needed.
  • Ability to travel 10-15%.
