This project supports a multi-domain technology platform which offers military and business decision makers, analysts, and users at all levels unprecedented access to authoritative enterprise data and structured analytics in a scalable, reliable, and secure environment. It offers platform-, data analytics-, and data science-as-a-service tools to complete analysis and data exploration and data visualization capabilities. Using one central data platform with right-time data, data tools, and other self-service products, the goal is to simplify solutions and put the power of analytics in the pocket of every analyst and decision-making authority at the Department of Defense.

In an increasingly connected world, massive amounts of structured and unstructured data open up endless opportunities. Our dashboard developers spend their days unlocking secrets held by data sets and exploring new possibilities presented by the IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence advances. They turn complex data sets into valuable information to solve global challenges across private and public sectors — from fraud detection to cancer research to national intelligence — they know, the answers are in the data.

The Collibra Administrator will support the administration and daily operations of our Collibra data catalog platform. You’ll work closely with delivery teams to understand their customer’s questions and needs, and then help ensure solutions are designed and developed to meet clients’ functional and technical requirements. This role is critical to implementing the means to further data literacy and data quality for the organization and will be part of the larger data services organization to help partner with the data engineers and data scientist to ensure clarity of the business glossary, data, and reporting assets to further productivity for all knowledge workers .

  • Distributed computer understanding and experience with SQL, Spark, ETL.

  • Willingess/ability to work on client site 2-3 days a week or as required by the client. Some remote work may be possible.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Daily operational support of the Collibra application, metadata import schedules, and overall operating model implementation Test and Perform application upgrades
  • Experience analyzing errors, troubleshooting, configuring, setting permissions, and performing application administration of COTS/SaaS tools supporting large scale business transformation programs
  • Experience with writing guides, arming tier 1 with FAQ’s/answers to common questions and thinking of other ways to proactively engage with users (welcome package for new users)
  • Experience with triaging support from support desk, tracking/prioritizing feature requests, evaluating change request impacts, organizing RCAs
  • Strong customer service orientation with strong oral and written communication skills
  • 2 to 5 years of professional experience working with and administering complex COTS/SaaS products
  • 1 to 3 years of Collibra data catalog administration experience or related experience
  • Content Management/Knowledge Base
  • Knowledgeable in BPMN and Workflow creation
  • Skilled at Java, Rest API, JSON, XML, and SOAP
  • BA or BS degree
  • Minimum Active Secret Clearance (Applicants selected may be identified for future situations where a higher-tier clearance is required for access to classified information)

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with facilitating BI tool training
  • Experience in using DoD Data Management to manipulate and integrate databases with SQL, SAS, or other languages
  • Knowledge of Big Data systems, including Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, or Cloudera
  • Able to discern stakeholder needs, effectively communicate development plans, and track progress milestones
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent critical thinking skills to assess numbers, trends, and data to reach new conclusions based on findings
  • Excellent quantitative skills, including statistical analysis, process design, and data management
