GDIT has an immediate opportunity for a REMOTE IT Application Senior Service Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as primary IT Application Service Manager accountable for the high availability operation, performance, and integrity of one or more business applications.

  • Report directly to IT Service Owner who oversees the overall quality of services being provided across a portfolio of business applications.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional support teams, analyzing requirements, user stories and related artifacts to determine technical specifications for application configuration.

  • Balance competing priority demands including but not limited to routine planned maintenance, reactive unplanned issues, minor improvements and major enhancement projects.

  • Manage a team of systems analysts, application administrators and developers to support upgrades, maintenance, enhancements, and integrations with other systems.

  • Prioritize and assign work to meet deadlines managing delays, escalations, and expectations with functional and IT stakeholders.

  • Provide tactical guidance and ensure team members are cross trained for change management, operational and system development controls to support IT and business audit needs.

  • Facilitate quarterly release impact assessments and release management planning.

  • Facilitate issue escalations and enhancement requests with the vendor(s).

  • Review training materials for use and administration of the system.

  • Provide day to day operations oversight, status reports and escalate issues as needed.

  • Stay up to date on industry trends and business process changes.

  • Provide hands on configuration and deployment support when needed.

  • Direct various personnel functions including performance reviews, goal setting, merit recommendations, training plans, promotions, transfers and hiring.

  • Manage support coverage and vacation schedules.

  • Provide input into roadmaps and budget planning.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related discipline, plus 10+ years of related information systems experience.

  • In lieu of degree, the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience will be required.

  • Experience in project management or applications management within information technology

PERFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience managing implementations and operations support for Oracle Cloud Supply Chain, Procurement, Product/Order Management and Enterprise Resource Planning applications.

  • Knowledge and awareness of current Oracle Cloud information technology solutions.

  • Leadership and interpersonal skills, detail oriented, organization and time management skills.

  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.

  • Excellent collaboration skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to manage multiple activities across a distributed and cross functional team environment.

  • Ability to adapt to changes in requirements and new projects.

  • Must be able to work well with employees at all levels of the company.

  • Demands may require work hours outside of normal business hours.

  • Telecommute position, occasional travel may be required.

The likely salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
