Functional Description : Technical Individual Contributor

Provide expertise in OSI PI system administration, SQL database queries, data historian content and reports design. Support validation activities related to the data historian and maintain the validate state of the system. Develop test plans for verification of the system changes. Interface the system with additional data sources as needed. Develop new content as requested by system users.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • OSI PI administration: provide administration, development, validation and support of all aspects of the data historian, OSI PI, including interfaces to automated equipment, control systems, other data bases and software.
  • Design and interface additional data sources with OSI PI.
  • Lead data historian projects and internal/external resources, develop and manage project schedules and report and resolve project issues.
  • Experienced regarding relational database and data warehouse architect and design.
  • Experienced with SQL and design and implementation of queries and stored procedures.
  • This position may also support and provide system administrator to some SQL databases.
  • Possess full life-cycle experience on software projects.
  • Develop additional visualization and graphical object for OSI PI with Java Scripts.
  • Develop and maintain source code for OSI PI and database projects. Ensure that projects build successfully in a continuous integration environment.
  • Document and troubleshoot data historian performance or availability issues, data quality issues in an FDA-compliant manner.
  • Work with cross-functional departments to define requirements, compliance documentation, test plans, test records and release implementation.
  • Update documents, generate test plans “IQs, OQs”, and test as needed.
  • Provide periodic 24/7 remote phone support for the systems.
  • Work with cross-functional teams including R&D, Operations, Quality Assurance, Contract Manufacturers, and other stakeholders to facilitate data access in terms of reporting, analysis systems, and data integration.
  • Develop Reports and facilitate training for users to develop their own reports.
  • Effectively plan, define test strategy, provide QA estimates and provide test management throughout the testing cycle.
  • Create, maintain, and enforce internal development processes that align with industry best-practices and medical regulations alike.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in OSI PI system administration and content development.
  • Experience in SQL Server 2012+.
  • Experience in reporting and query tools and practices.
  • Hands on investigation and troubleshooting of databases issues is required.
  • Exposure to test-driven development and experience with all test phases.
  • Working knowledge with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques, and other tools, such as Jira and confluence.
  • Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Creative problem solver with attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, OPCs.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Reporting Services and Tableau.
  • Working knowledge of other data platforms such as Oracle, Microsoft Azure, and Hadoop.
  • Working knowledge of GMP standards and procedures.
  • Experience creating and/or reviewing design specifications, drawings, and other project documents such as URS, FRS, SDS, etc.
  • Experience with testing in a 21 CFR part 11 regulated environment.
  • Experience in working in clean room environments.
  • Familiarity with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Databases.
  • Experience with Python, Perl, R squared desired.
  • Experience with Automation Direct Ignition SCADA.
  • Experience with Siemens CAMSTAR.
  • Experience with LabView.
  • Use of analytical tools and procedures used in Lean Six Sigma such as utilizing the DMAIC methodology for continuous improvement.

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 5-8 years related experience or Master’s degree and 2-5 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 0-2 years experience.

Functional Description

Supports and maintains software-as-a-service (SaaS) and enterprise-wide applications associated with the collection, retrieval, accessibility and usage of data for internal department planning and activities. Performs basic configuration, setup, and updating of application, including table definitions and access control. Enters and ensures validity of data entered into established tables, fields and system databases. Builds and produces reports using query and flexible reporting tools to meet the requirements of business management and staff. Sets up user accesses and trains users on application. Recommends changes in applications development, maintenance and system standards.
