System Administrator II

We at Brewer Science, Inc., a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor and microelectronics markets, are currently seeking a highly motivated and energetic candidate to fill an open position as a Systems Administrator II. This position is open to full time remote.

The Systems Administrator II is responsible for the design, installation, monitoring, security, support and maintenance of Brewer Science’s global server infrastructure. Performs growth analysis, capacity planning and optimization to meet current and future needs. Maintains detailed documentation. Ensures systems are properly backed up, and have resilience for disaster recovery.

  • Responsible for the proper operation of Brewer Science’s server infrastructure; including but not limited to:
  • Windows and Linux servers, O365 environment, VMware environment, Active Directory, AWS, VOIP, DHCP, Identity Management service, Web servers, iSCSI storage, and MS SQL/MySQL database servers
  • Researches, evaluates, installs, configures and troubleshoots all server hardware, peripherals and equipment
  • Complies with federal and audit requirements for system security controls by ensuring all system have these controls in place and are verified routinely.
  • Upgrades systems by coordinating with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements, patches, and updates routinely.
  • Meets financial requirements by submitting information for forecasting and monitoring expenses.
  • Conducts growth analyses and capacity planning and assists in development of capital and operating proposals.
  • Maintains knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organization.
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Strives towards continuous improvement for the Global IT department by taking on new requests, tasks and providing recommendations for enhancements.
  • Performs Project Manager responsibilities for IT Systems related projects
Credentials and Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Three to Seven years related experience in Computer Systems Administration
  • Experience with MCSA, VMware or Linux certified; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and related experience.
